View Full Version : A BUG?

I am wondering about something. I have never noticed this in the six plus years that I have been playing SE IV but when you place a queue on hold shouldn't the resources that that queue is using go back into the general fund? Example: You building a Dreadnought and you are running low on say Organics. The Dreadnought is costing say 3000 organics. So place the queue on hold. Now shouldn't your Organics production go up by 3000k?

In the image I have included I have several queues on hold and none of the resources that those queues are using is going back into the general fund. IE even though they are on hold, they are still using those funds.

I would have to clear the queue to get those funds to go back toward increasing my treasury.

I am fairly sure that it only looks like it's being subtracted in the empire screen. If you actually process the turn it won't actually be subtracted. So your resource total after the turn processes will end up 3000 higher than it is saying it was going to be. Still a bug depending on your point of view.

Thanks Geoschmo. I wasn't sure what to make of it.

Boy I sure HOPE that is true. I wish that the queues on hold would come up at the bottom of the list when you check your empires queue list.

I tend to put some monstrously huge item into the queue, then put it on hold, just so that when I sort the queues I can have the ones not building anything show up at the top without it showing me planets where I wouldnt want to build anything.

I put a single WobblyBob troop in the queue and put it on hold. Then sort by Build and the blank ones come to the top.

All right, I just wanted to use "WobblyBob" in a sentence.

They don't show up at the bottom unless you name the dummy item "zzzz!" or similar, but they certainly don't show up at the top.

That being said, if you add things to the queue from the queues list, the sort order does not immediately change (that would be a pain when the thing you are looking at jumps around).
You can close/reopen the window or just click the list header again to trigger a resort.

I usually just press the "upgrade all facilities" button. Clicking a column header resets the memory of the last 3 parameters for the sorting, doesn't it?
