View Full Version : Question (Chill Aura &more)

Hi, I'd like to make a mod including a unit with a strong chill aura.

The best and simple solution apears to be "#cold" that does this effect, but only at a strength of 3.

Writing multiple "#cold"s does not increase this and neither does #coldX or #cold X

I have then used copystats to get the abilities from the Niefel Giant and found something interesting: With copied abilities, the new creature has chill 15 but writing a "#cold" line below it increases it to 18. - any further number of "#cold"s does still not increase this, however.

So, anyway, are there any comands, to get the stronger chill auras on new units?

And if not: Is there a way to remove abilities?
So, if I copy a monster and want to reduce it. Sure, it's easy to overwrite "Fire Resistence 100" with "Fire Resistence 0" for example - but what about flags like "#holy"?
What about removing equipment only

I think I have an answer.

Make a unit with #cold. That's all. Then copystats him with another unit and give that unit #cold as well. Hopefully it should add up to cold 6. Then make another unit and copystats the second, adding cold again - hopefully you get 9.

And so on.

I haven't tested this, but based on my experience I think it could work.

*checking*

No, it does not work, still only power 3. But was a good idea.

There is probably a secret (or say "forgotten") line for special cold auras - I tried #cold15 but it looks like it isn't so obvious. - But maybe it's not accessable through the modding commands at all.

If that's the case, then there's probably a number effect hidden in the unit somewhere, and cold/heat just activate it. This seems to be evident in how fire magic increases heat levels.

Damn.

Looks like you'll have to find a suitable unit to copystats from.

You can't remove sacred tags though, no. You can remove equipment using a copystats trick, but there are many special tags and abilities that you can't get rid of once you've copied.
