To some, Runescape is a way of life, almost like another world you can run to. You can do whatever you like (except for a few rules like offend other players and stuff), it is a free world out there. The whole idea of Runescape is very original, as it combines the ideas of real-time action, RPG and multiplayer games into a very basic program. What fascinates me the most is that your character is part of a diverse trade community, where every item, depending on its rarity, has an accepted "market value." You can make armor, mine ores, become a woodcutter, fish and cook fishes, and make bows and arrows and so much more. Your limit is your imagination. It's basically very similar to real life: improve your skills and make money off a particular trade, which will allow you to finance skills such as magic and ranged fighting that require a constant supply or runes and arrows respectively. You really get a sense of community in this game, because part of the gaming experience depends on the other players. When selling a commodity, a player can log on to a room that has a large amount of players, while those who want to train by fighting creatures without other people taking the kills may prefer to chose empty rooms. Although i'm not a member myself, it is possible to pay $5 a month and unlock tons of member benefits, including many new places to travel to, more items... etc.

RuneScape is a fun, challenging, and exciting game which is very important part of the life of many people.HAVE FUN!

Another forum I visit had a plague of these things awhile back. Bots kept signing up and trying to sell us rubbish. I would have thought Intel would have precautions against it.

Most likely they do have precautions, but no safeguards are perfect.

Spam indeed. I didn't ban the user yet since the post is related to gaming as opposed to something totally unrelated to our business. But I did edit the link. Click on it now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

And feel free to pm Mindi or myself if you catch spammers before we do. Thanks!

* dogscoff clears his throat and takes a deep breath...

I am the very model of an SE4 obsessional,
I quantify resources in organic, rad and mineral,
I know the race descriptions both societal and historical,
From Abbidon to Xi-Chung Hive in order catagorical,

I'm very well acquainted too with races non-material,
I found the Eee consortium to be somewhat ethereal,
When they spoke to me last night they said my growth was quite astonishing,
While the dangers of strange warp points they were carefully admonishing,

I find trade beneficial but my policies expansionist,
Force me to attack my allies and that tends to get them really pissed,
I'll slag their worlds until their score's comparitively fractional,
A state which is conducive to surrender unconditional,

I'll conquer other races for advantage technological,
This aggresive behaviour's nothing short of pathological,
I'll have to pay a price for all my unprovoked atrocities,
My domination always triggers M.E.E. eventually,

In mid game I start construction of the miners monolithical,
My research and economy soon verge upon the mythical,
After that it entertains me to the point of the hysterical,
To build artificial worlds both in the ring-shape and the spherical,

I've tried my hand at modding to increase the AI quality,
Too make them more a challange and reduce their odd propensity,
for sending ships to colonize the reaches of the galaxy,
ignoring death and danger and defying rationality,

They send their ships through damaging phenomena continually,
ignoring warnings that their ships encountered mines there previously,
The whys and wherfores of their thoughts is something of a mystery,
So I suppose that for a challenge I should Play By Webery!

I dream at night of building my dominion galactical,
I play from dawn to sundown with an eagerness fanatical,
I bore my friends to tears with tales of empires astronomical,
I waste my time at work writing songs like this so comical,

I've a hundred player shipsets, some sublime and some ridiculous
I read Shrapnel forums daily, both on-topic threads and frivolous,
I've played all the mods from TDM to Pirates to Proportional,
I am the very model of an SE4 obsessional.
