Fryon , Is this infestation actively consuming solar system and can it jump warp points to spread outwards ? This would be great as another challenge , let's say an obscure race has the tech to battle infestation and you have to find them before it eats your empire !

I too am not sure to what extent it actively consumes planets. I find it particularly interesting. As some might recognise, my Avatar is Emperor Charon from Negation. In one comic he proves his Godhood by single handedly destroying the Negation version of a Black Hole, a giant space monster that eats planets.

That quote is in reference to how the Venus Ship Trap draws in unsuspecting ships despite the intelligences aboard.

Note that I redid the placement of the storms to be more randomized, and updated the screenshots.

I still like mine better. Funny leaves/sporepods/fish aside, anyway.

Who what now?

Or in other words, there are thousands upon thousands of fictions out there.

ah it doesn't matter. Charon is God emperor of an alternate universe. He gets the reputation as evil because he conquered that entire universe. He singlehandedly kills a monster the size of a planet, since after all how can he be evil if he saves a planet's population.

I only mentioned it since it related somewhat to the idea of a monster that eats planets. Apart from that just consider it me taking an oppurtunity to go on about something I like http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif, and well I've had that avatar for years before the topic came up.

They don't make the comic anymore since the company went bankrupt. Having read what was going to happen next I'm actually very glad it was ended when it did. It involved someone being beaten with a toilet http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Ah, thanks. Sounds like a LN in D&D terms.
