My third map:

Volcanic Rebirth
Version 1.0

72 Land, 13 sea. Wraparound.

Description: Thousands of years ago powerful gods clashed on this land and in the skies. Destructive spells turned the green, serene lands into a volcanic wasteland. The gods have since departed and nature is beginning to reclaim her bounty.

Note: the red lava patches on the map are of type Wasteland.

Installation instructions: download the attachment and unzip to your dominions 3 maps directory. The map will be in the list of maps next time you run dominions 3.

looks cool. I'll give it a try soon. The graphics are very appealing, and look like they wouldn't take forever to do, which is a major plus for a map maker. Is this something commercial (like a HOMM editor) or how did you make it?

** Actually, I can't unzip it. I donwloaded twice in case it was a download error. When I try to unzip, it says unknown zip format or something like that.

I'll give more feedback once I play it.

I feared this may happen, it looks like Winzip version 11's "excellent" compression setting is more proprietary than I thought.

I'm uploading a new zip now (double the size of the old one).

As with my other maps it is the map editor that comes with Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Making maps with this is very easy, you just click and drag all the object you want onto the screen, then print-screen into photoshop for the rest. Because it is tile-based, wraparounds are easy to make too. You can tell where the seams are, but they are fairly well hidden unless you specifically look for them.

The new compression works fine, thanks!
