I just purchased SEIV and have a question a about setting up a new game. Using the TDM-Modpack, I manually select and edit empires to include (checking computer player in player setup for opponent empires). I generate a system and hit start game. Note I also set other game parameters such as AI-Hard, Victory conditions, etc.

My question is: Often the initial system assigned is either lacking planets, or poorly located. Is there a way to quickly re-shuffle the start location without changing any of the other settings (ie. empires, system/galaxy, etc.)? I've been going back and restarting from scratch and it gets tedious.

And by the way; I'm loving this game. I can't believe I put off purchasing for 1.5 yrs waiting for SEV (pre and post release).

There is a great guide for starting a new game. Link (http://home.spaceempires.net/downloads-file-421.html) The file is at http://home.spaceempires.net/downloads-cat-25.html

The file is self extracting one. Don't worry, all it is is a PDF file. I know, I wrote it based upon information available from many sources.

No, there is no way to save game setup options in SE4. SE5 has such functionality, but it was never added to SE4, sadly.

That link

is a great one. It needs a button at the bottom for a single file called "All_of_the_Above"

Thanks everyone for the responses.
- Atrocities, Great startup guide. Its come it handy in race/empire creation.

- Fyron, thanks also. That's what I figured on saving setup options. The games so complex, I was hoping I'd missed something.
