Be honest, no need to lie. Pick your addictions.

You forgot cigarettes. They're not illegal, and unfortunately you can't get prescription for them either. I refuse to answer any questions until I've had a cigarette!

I'm not addicted to computers. I'm addicted to the fanfiction and forums on the computers. There's a difference.

Depression is not an addiction, it's an illness. One that requires medication to treat. Such medication should not be considered an addiction but rather a necessity.

I agree with you randallw but for the purposes of this poll just humor me. I figured for the purposes of this pole that in order to be "your" addiction it had to preoccupy most of your day to day thoughts.

OK then for the sake of the question I'll say Depression. Computers might be second I guess. I can't say the other stuff because I abhor addiction. I don't drink alcohol or caffeine, or smoke.

I don't think I'm addicted to anything. I certainly like a drink, and if a doctor were to tell me I can't ever touch alcohol again I think I'd cry for a week, but I can happily go for arbitrary lengths of time without booze.

Food too. Obviously I can't go without food any more than anyone else, but i could survive quite happily without snacking. (Narf: Look away now, this next bit may be disturbing for you) I was once told I had to cut cheese out of my diet altogether. I'm a huge cheese lover, but I cut it out completely for about 6 months. Turns out it wasn't making such a huge dent in my cholesterol, and now I can eat as much as I like=-)

I could easily become addicted to computers. I often wonder what I'd have been like if I'd never got together with my missus. I think I would have descended into serious, hardcore geekdom and never seen the light of day from about 1998 to the present day.

I'm mainly addicted to computering: gaming, programming and map designing (on many kind of games)

I'm too addicted to science-fiction and science-projection.

geeksworld (http://www.geeksworld.com) is my first think every morning.
I next launch my self-iterative AI, but it still doesn't work. But one day, it will!

when Star Wars is science-fiction, "2001, space odisse" or "Foundation" are more Science-projection.

This is more a continuation of the actual science than a general delirium

The traditional way of describing the 'plausible' science fiction that sticks to things we know are likely to be possible is to call it 'hard' scifi. Other scifi is not necessarily called 'soft' though as this sounds pejorative. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

If I may wade in to the debate this late, to me the term "Science Fiction" covers all of those, rather than "Science Projection" (an interesting term I've not heard before). In my opinion a story which is not a retelling of an actual event is classified as fiction, regardless of occurring in the past, present, or future and also regardless of whether based on rules from "our universe" or any other.
