The new patch is up:

There should be no problems continuing Balance Mod games from v1.58 if you were going to ask that question.

Yes, especially the parts about trade income and unit transfer.
So no compatibility problems with BM 1.09 PBW?

Can anyone clarify what these mean?
3. Fixed - Queue types should not contain accumulated resources.
4. Fixed - Queue types were bypassing requirements.

When you run the patch? I'd imagine you just have to redownload the patch as the download got corrupted; I doubt it would mean SE5 is corrupted...

At worst, you should just have to re-install.

try on another computer, if it works, zip the whole thing and shift it over to the one you want to play on.

if you know a bit of it, have a look in the windows' registry... you may have wrong keys in it.

Disclaimer: I don't actually have SEV, so this is just a guess.
As in SEIV, you can fill a construction queue with, for example, a ringworld's full load of monoliths, and then save the queue. On your next ringworld you would then be able to queue up all those monoliths just by adding your saved queue. For #3, I'm guessing that saved queues were storing progress towards completion as well as the list of things to build, so you could, for example, spend 9 turns building something that takes 10 turns to build, save the queue, add that queue somewhere else, and only have 1 turn remaining in the other location despite having done no work on it there at all. For #4, I'd guess that you could add a queue that included ships to a planet that didn't have a space yard and the planet would build the ship despite not having the facility supposedly required to do so.

Thanks. I thought you were a SE5 beta tester???

Officially yes, but it failed to keep my interest for very long and I don't currently have it installed, beta version or otherwise. Getting the beta set up on my new computer would require bugging Aaron for an activation code as well as downloading a LOT of stuff (unless that system's changed since the last time I did anything with it), and installing the retail version would require that I obtain it, and I'm not sure if the system for getting beta testers free copies is still open. Plus, I'm busy and my last impression of the game wasn't exactly great, though I admit that was quite some time ago.
