Have high hopes and expectations. Read a few of the books and thought they were pretty good. Have a bad feeling though they will air 4-6 episodes and either be cut due to poor viewership, corporate stupidity or the writers strike.

Never heard of it. chances are it will be canceled by episode 8, then have great dvd sales, be brought back as a movie of the week or as a feature film, bomb, and be never heard from again.

It's sounds like it might be cool, I just wish they weren't totally handwaving away the entire timeline of T3. I try not to be anal about that sort of thing, I know it sounds terribly geeky. It just really leaves me cold when they do that sort of stuff. It's like, what was the point of that movie if none of it relates to the new stuff?

The only point of that movie that I could see was to make Arnie some extra $$ and to spread the sex appeal of the female terminator. IMO that movie was the worse thing to happen to the franchise.

It just depends on who's behind this. Gale Anne Hurd or James Cameron? Cameron wouldn't have made T3 like it was, but since Hurd has the rights to the franchise, she can do anything she wants to with it. Which is a shame. I'd rather see Cameron's version on both the small and big screen. After all, he was the one who created teh Terminator in the first place.

T4? I hadn't even heard of it being a possibility. I wish Christian Bale would get back to being Bruce Wayne, however. Batman Begins was the ultimate Batman movie, and what Tim Burton should have made in 1989. I can't wait for the sequel.

After the drastic effects of Terminator 3, the story continues as John Connor and soon to be wife Kate Brewster realize they must create a resistance organization with Earth's remaining survivors against the army of robots slowly being built up by Skynet. As they are building this resistance, one survivor happens to be a traitor in disguise, and has a secret that nobody would ever come to suspect.
What is the secret, Its john Connor's twin.

The idea of a Cara Conner Chronicles TV show or a T4 movie does nothing for me. I won't bother to watch either.
It just shows the entertainment industry's total lack of new ideas.
I know that sounds hypocritical of me, since I AM looking forward to the new Star Trek film.

I saw the show last night, and what with my son taking a bath and my wife getting things ready for school, I missed the credits. So I don't know who was behind the show. But I liked it. I plan on seeing tonight's show with less interruptions.
I do have a few questions about the format. First of all, Dark Horse Comics had a series a few years back that had Dyson's brother being a cop and trying to apprehend the Conners, until WW3 happened. I wonder if the black FBI agent on the show is supposed to be him. I didn't catch his name.
Also, what's up with the time machine in the bank vault? Who was this engineer who went to 1963 and created something that not even Skynet could do? Send humans and/or cyborgs back into the future. That will need some more explaining, and if anyone knows of a website that goes into this let me know.

I couldn't bring myself to watch it. The previews looked awful... "Only a mother's love can save the future"... bleh
This just looks like fox's answer to Bionic Woman, but instead of one hot super woman, they added a 2nd with the terminator. You know that they will have a romance/tension plot with the terminator and John Connor. It just seems like they are going for a wider demographic rather than the best story. If this was on hbo or another channel like that, I would watch it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

While it was not as bad as I feared, I can't say I was terribly impressed with it. I think the worst aspects of it was any scene with John, which ranged from stupid (scene in the computer store) to lame (scene with him recording his voicemail greeting) to WTF? (scene with him breaking into his mother's old boyfriend house and then assaulting him).
I'd also second Aegisx's thoughts that they will probably introduce a romance plot with the feminator and John, and if you've watched Futurama you know the dangers of dating robots.
In the end I guess I still don't understand why this was greenlit in the first place. The Terminator universe isn't exactly ripe with fascinating mythology to draw from, and how you can keep up a continuing action drama about it is beyond me. And really, since the future keeps sending robots back in time that means nothing changes, so isn't the show based on just spinning the wheels endlessly?
Oh well, who wants to start betting on how long it even manages to last before it gets replaced by a reality show?

TtSCC will go about 13 or so episodes and then be terminated. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Of this I am pretty sure given that it is basically a tried and true Sci-Fi robots are people too retread of a plot line that has been literally hammered to death. Hell it is already being called a BSG type rip-off based in 2007 on Earth given that the robots are human and want to knock off man kind. To these people I simply say TERMINATOR, go rent it and stop *****ing, it really makes you look 12 and quite pathetic.
FOX is known for its love of killing shows after 13 episodes. They kill em off only to discover years later that they had made a horrible mistake. Examples, Family Guy, Futurama, Firefly, and so on. Hell they were going to kill 24 around hour 13 but fan out pouring kept the show on the air and it blossomed into a huge hit for FOX. (I think the executive that wanted to drop the axe on that show had the axe dropped on him.)
If they would kill off Firefly after 10 episodes, even though they had 13 read to go, then this crappy excuse for a show won't last long. Yes,It Truly Is That Bad...!

All I've wanted to see since seeing the original movie is what happens after the bombs go off. How does John Conner go from reluctant hero, to being the saviour of mankind. I hope that is what T4 will be about. I think AT is right about Fox cancelling the show sooner than later. We'll just have to wait and see.

Too much time travel.
Not enough Summer Glau.
I agree with the previous post, and I hope T4 is about the war. I hated T3's "the internet made me do it" origin of Skynet... if for no more reason than the internet is not shielded against nukes, and of course networked computers are nothing special. I wasn't thrilled with T2's rewriting of "how many time travelers there were". I just loved T1's "a storm is coming" ending... making it in my mind the best of the movies.

That "internet made me do it" crap in T3 was so lame. Do you think the writers of that little tid bid put some thought into what happens to the internet when all the computers are nuked out of existence? Without power computer no work, no computers, no networks, no networks, no internet, no internet, no skynet. Duuuuuurrrrrrr
Well at least they didn't save Sara conners head and put her in a prison with a baby terminator in her belly that is never explained how it got there.

I thought I'd just share something someone said about the next film being a prequel (supposedly)
:
February 27th, 2008 at 6:41 am
How could it be a prequel if Bale is playing an adult John Connor? Unless of course it is a prequel in the sense that it is set in the future, but BEFORE John Connor sent Arnie back through time. So it would be set in the past as far as the future is concerned, the future as far as the past is concerned and the future as far as the first movie is concerned, because none of the stuff in the the first movie (which is the past) has happend yet in the future (which is also the past, because for the past to become the future, John Connor needs to send Arnie back in the the distant future in order to save himself in the future past in order for himself to survive long enough to turn into Christan Bale and thus allow for a prequel set in the past future).
Or something.
As Chief O'Brien said
"I hate temporal mechnaics"
narf poit chez BOOM
February 28th, 2008, 07:50 AM
Not quite correct. The only way it could work is an *infinite loop; John Conner knew who and when to send back into the past because he had encountered them after they were sent back into the past - Thus, he remembers them from his past.
An infinite loop, *or something close to it, is possible if the first triggering event sets the stage for additional triggering events, thus possibly creating multiple loops and multiple timelines.

Erm, isn't the "Terminator" in the show supposed to be a T1000 like the one in the Terminator 2 movie? In that case, she doesn't have an endoskeleton, she's an amorphous mass of nano-assemblers. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif If the fire in that episode is close to the melting point of steel, she could be in trouble. Well, yeah, if he could find time away from politics he'd be an interesting guest star now & then. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif They could put him in as an incidental character in certain scenes (just 'one of the Terminators' in a scene with several) using CGI, too. She has an endoskeleton. As a matter of fact, they showed where John had to cut open her skull and remove her memory chip so they could use it to hack into a computer system. She is defintely not a T1000 series model. I'm just wondering if she's coming back, and how much of her "skin" will she have left if she is still to pose as human.

Ok, I've seen a few episodes now and I must say, this show sucks donkeyballs.. and bad acting seems to be the order of the day. It's like they all went to the soap opera school of acting. I can allready see where this is leading.. Sarah connor will eventually be turned into a 'terminator model'.. Oh the irony the mother of john connor is a terminator, and she gives bith to the saveiour of human kind.
Gawd I wanna go puke.. I haven't seen anything this bad on TV since the Simpsons hit the air.
Anyways, enjoy the show. The only bright side is it can't get much worse, so who knows it may improve, but I'll not be wasting any more time watching it.
Did I say the acting was/is horrible? omg it's not even bad enough to laugh at. That's sad.
Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
The above views are mine, (probably mine 'Alone') and should be taken as a opinion only.
P.S. the last time I felt this disapointed in a new series was Star Trek Enterprise.. Horrible choice to change the opening music and the choice to have 'Scott Bakula'? as captain, a dryer more dull captain has never been seen in star trek.. (he is on par with Dr Pelanski) from TNG. baaaad!
