The classic SE5 box, created entirely out of SE5 art.

NOTE: This picture, and the ones that follow it are pretty gosh-darn big (~1MB), so if you're on dial-up you may want to save them to your computer first. Or pass on them entirely. But then you'd be missing all kinds of goodness.

And here be one of David's creations. Frankly, I like his more. But then his doesn't have space ships made out of DG's head, now does it? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

And, I couldn't resist. SE5 has never looked so good!

I have a poster of Darth Vader like that, made from scenes from the movies, that I found it in a little shop in Cornwall.

These are cool. I'm assuming you have some program that does these? I'm thinking if you were doing them by hand it would take you months.

Very very nice. I would also like to know how you did these.

I'm wondering if there is enough colors in the avatars in my emporium to generate pics. Might be cool, sort of 'Icon art' where each Icon=1 pixel in pic.

anyways, cool pics. I noticed an unusual amount of my protrait throughout the se5 cover pic. lol, I can be so vain http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

...How do you save them?

David, I'd be very interested in finding out. If there's some way you can think of that I can get my greasy mitts on the emporium, I'll see what I can come up with. And actually, you show up a lot in all of the pictures because I didn't realize that the program I used doesn't support .bmps, so it only used 899 out of the 2,353 pictures I pulled out of SE5's pictures directory.

And Narf: Very, very slowly. Each of those pictures is scaled down from ~100MB, 24 Megapixel+ versions. They could wind up much, much bigger, of course, but I made sure that the input file was only 640x480 at the most. Probably a good thing too, since manipulating them uses ~1.5GB of my 2GB of RAM http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

No, I mean I click on the attachment and right-click for Save Image and it wants to save download.php.

How do I save the image? (If you don't mind?)

You're right. That's odd that it would prevent you from downloading the image.

I don't know what's going on there. I sure didn't do anything to prevent people from saving the pictures. I'm attaching all three as a .zip (~11MB), so hopefully that'll download properly.

Edit: Just tested it and it seems to work ok.

If you right click on the "attachment" text on the original pics, a menu will popup to allow you to "save target as" a bmp file to where ever you want.

O..m..G.. it's still online...

Avatar Emporium (http://seiv.pbw.cc/theavataremporium.htm)

if you view the page and "save page as.. <Complete Web Source>" it should copy all the images to your HD where you can use them.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this looks. Pick a good pic.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Wow, looking at the avatar emporium is like looking at old photos... those old avatars are like faces to me, in many cases faces I haven't seen in a long time.

Friendship lasts forever. Most friendships grow and fade.

And philosophizing may not have been what you're looking for, but oh well. It's one of the things I do best.

True - But there is a difference between a friendship of convienience and a friendship of the heart.

One is friendship, the other a relationship.

Technically, I suppose 'Best friends forever' is a relationship.

But, from what I've heard, those ones are rather rare.
