Well, after a long break from Dominions due to some unfortunate personal circumstances, I've returned, and I come bearing something that may interest some of you modders; the complete list of fly sprites.
This took some time to make so I hope it will be at least somewhat helpful. Unfortunately, a significant portion of the sprites are poorly suited to being flysprites, in fact, a great many of them appear to be explosion sprites, or a combination of the two. (IMHO) Some of the sprites should probably be never used at all.
The list is attached as a txt file. Enjoy.
Oh, and Happy New Years everyone. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Sweet! This will be very useful. Thanks very much for all the work - this must have taken ages!

Hey Saulot, could you provide a link to this in the "Tools and Tutorials" sticky thread so it remains easy to find?

I'll add it to the mod list under "Resources"

These are weapon flysprites correct? Not spell ones?

Spell flysprites are kind of different right? Well, I guess Vine Arrow is like a vine bow, but am I right in thinking things like fireball flying animations can't be modded?

@Sombre: Thanks.

These would be weapon flysprites (Table 5 in the modding.pdf), yes. (Though if I recall correctly they also appear to use some graphics from the explosion sprites (Table 4).)

To elaborate for anyone unsure, there are also weapon explosion sprites, spell flysprites, and spell explosion sprites, which all share the same group (Table 4 or FX 10000-10257).

Edit:
@llamabeast:
Well, AFAIK the explosion sprites for fireball are listed but I'm unsure of whether one can make a working fireball from scratch (Or a spell that looks like a fireball but does something different). Personally, I've found copyspell to be a much easier way to go, but is there any reason why using copyspell and editing from there wouldn't do the trick for you?

Well it was sort of an abstract question really. When I was working on my Tomb Kings mod I wanted to make a staff that fired fireballs, but I couldn't do it. It didn't matter in the end though.
