New Tech Area - Engineering

Sick of expensive high tech fleets draining your resources?

I would like to see maintenance reduction components, researchable thru an engineering tech area once it is researched

The tech field would only be accessible once most levels of ship design have been reached. One thats somewhat expensive (150k for 1st level for eg) and reduces maintenance by 10% for 1st level, 20% for 2nd and 30% for 3rd.

Does anyone know if its already in a mod, or have any further ideas on this sort of tech area?

That ability is already in the game (sort of), as the Crystalline facility.

You could make some regular tech "Preventative Maintenance SpaceYards"
