I have a number of paper sketches that I would like to try and turn into a ship set for use in se4. I would like some recommendations regarding software to do this creation in. If you can address the following areas it would be most helpful:
-price of software -your own experience
-ease of use with the software
Thanks, Tuchuk

Check out the "birth of a shipset" page for my space vikings.

"I think so Brain but, if you replace the P with an O, my name would be Oinky, wouldn't it?"

I use Pov-Ray and code graphics by hand. (I don't use Moray.) It has long learning curve but results are pretty good. If you don't want to spent a lot time learning Moray is better for you because it has nice UI. Pov-Ray is freeware and Moray is shareware. I think the shareware Version of Moray has nags but is otherwise fully fuctional.

I use 3dStudio, of course it's not cheap but pirate copies are easy to find.
It's relatively easy to use for newbies but it's very complex and I'm still finding new tools.
