The Multimedia Pack (http://home.spaceempires.net/article337.html) has been updated.

FQM 5.00 Beta 13 (http://home.spaceempires.net/article338.html) has been released.

Is there an update available for the Multimedia pack or do we have to download all files again?

The only file that was updated, rather than new, was old Stellar2 to the new Planets3 and Models3. The new stuff is so big that you'd only save maybe 10% download (13 MB compared to 94 + 39). If you're on a slow connection, I'd recommend getting them via torrent, since the protocol inherently supports resuming transfers after a dropped network connection. I can upload some patches if you would still prefer that route.

No big problem for me as I have a 5Mb internet access, but I just wanted to ask first.

From what I see the component Multimedia Pack still does not include the additional pictures Kwok uses in his Balance Mod: for instance small supply and ordnance storage.
Is there a problem or why this is not included?

Kwok has not submitted them.

Feel free to add them. The Small Ordnance Vat image could probably be added as well, I don't recall seeing it in the components pack.

Done and done.

Is this change in a revised Beta 13 or will it be in the next version?

Is the Media Pack incoporated in Balance Mod ?

No, the Balance Mod is self-contained.

FQM and MMP are separate entities; I was just being lazy with the one thread. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

For reference, FQM does not make any changes to components, so would not be able to benefit from the small version pics.

I meant the MM pack and I was being lazy with the question http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. Anyway I'll just go look at the MM site.

Some very nice stuff here Fyron. The new planet textures and surfaces (thanks MasterChiToes and Syann!) make a pleasant addition to stock.

One suggestion though - the gas giants look as if they've been on an acid trip with all their flourescent colours (the red, yellow and green streaked ones especially). Muted colours (with the occasional flourescent) would seem more realistic.

In truth, we usually see 'false color' images on Jupiter and Saturn. Their actual colors are pale pastels. Jupiter only has a hint of pink/red in its cloud tops. Saturn is basically cream colored. Uranus and Neptune are a bit more exotic, but also much more subdued than the usual publicity photos from NASA.

I have found in Components2
LargePortrait_Comp_295 and LargePortrait_Comp_296 need to be switched

What's the fun in boring, subdued pastels? The galaxy looks much more lively with bright fluorescents. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Both items have been updated again. (FQM article link (http://home.spaceempires.net/article342.html))
