I havent fiddled with any mod settings regarding migration.
I started a new game and i have small on-atmosphere world 2 sectors near my homeworld. Build a colonyship and load it with 1 m pop. The new planet has a max pop of 100m.

So i colonize the world and it has 1 m pop. My HE is done to 3999 (from 4k).

Next turn, my HW is down to 3960 and the new world is up to 46m pop.
One turn more, HW pop stays at 3960 and the colony jumps to 86/100.

This is something i never noticed before.
Will people migrate from big worlds to small worlds if they are near by ?

People will migrate every which way, as long as the destination is breathable.

I depleted my homeworld with colony ships and transports, and then the folks living on the no-atmo dirtball in the home system started migrating back to the homeworld http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

In your specific example there, the population grows back to max each turn, and then people migrate away.

Yeah, i realize the HWs stagnation was because of the migration, but it was very interesting nontheless.

Personally I like migration much more than the notion of transport ships carrying millions of people. I guess some priority system and a 'Do not migrate to X' feature might be nice improvements though.

Migration would be perfect if non-breathers would migrate away to zero (quickly) to undome planets. But of course they don't.
