Recently I took the trouble to download a 'freebie' game that is out of my usual genre of interest. Wild Metal by Rockstar games (Yes, the people that produce the Grand Theft Auto series) is a 3D tank game. It's not bad, having been updated to relatively modern graphics before being released for free download. http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/wmc.html After playing for a while, though, it's getting boring. Apparently is is possible to add things to the game, but I haven't been able to find any mods online. Are there any 3D modelers here who might like to try producing a new tank for this game? Converting some SE V "troop" vehicles would be cool, of course. But I was hoping for something more elaborate like the Landmaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landmaster) from Damnation Alley.

Hmm, 3D tank game? Could be interesting... I wonder what sort of tank game it is...
Funny, I always thought that the "Landmaster" was from Star Fox (Lylat Wars for those of you in Europe)... of course, Star Fox does have this penchant for referencing other sci-fi! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif What is this Damnation Alley anyway?
Other tanks that might be fun to see...
Advance Wars - "Neo Tank" - Looks like a ball on stilts with wheels on the bottom of the stilts, with a big cannon on the front. Any resemblance to an "octorok" from the Zelda series is probably entirely coincidental http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Advance Wars - "War Tank" - A HUMONGOUS tank with FIVE cannons on it!
Any sort of "mechs" or "walkers" or "wanzers" or "titans" whatever you call them in your favorite sci-fi universe... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
A tank with no cannons on it, but instead a drill! (Like Jules Verne's earth-borer, or the first boss from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
An invisible tank!
A spider-shaped "swarmer" bot about the size of a basketball!
A tank that looks like it's made out of Lego blocks! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
An unarmed tanker truck filled with water. (In homage to the origin of the name "tank" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif)

WOW!
Now there's a trip into the Way-Back Machine - "Damnation Alley", starring Jan Michael Vincent.
Hadn't heard of that in ages. Lame movie, but the "Landmaster" was cool, I'll admit.
