Listen, we a ll posted our favorite flash games, back when we were waiting for SE5, but an off-topic post like this one is kinda out of line just now but ...

http://www.rocksolidarcade.com/games/robokill/

... is a typical flash game, except ... they seem to have lifted the music from SE5, so maybe they're fans, as well.

Momentum Missile Mayhem 2 (http://www.kongregate.com/games/dz2001/momentum-missile-mayhem-2) - Like pool, only with tanks and explosions.

Momentum Missile Mayhem 2 is one of my favorite Flash games too, narf, hmm, probably number one.

Also Achilles (http://www.kongregate.com/games/DJStatika/achilles) and a few others (http://www.kongregate.com/accounts/Skarg/favorites) as well as just Kongregate (http://www.kongregate.com) in general (do you have an account, Narf?). I tire of most Flash games pretty quickly, but having a ton of them and frequent new arrivals is pretty interesting. Then again, I could stand to go give more of my old untried game pile more of a chance. Dominions 3 tends to dominate my game time these days, er, years.

I like MMM 2 as well.

Achilles is fun so far. A bit limited though. And too bad you can't pick up bows... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

...Think it glitched. Level 2, Stage 3, been walking for a few minutes and no enemies.

The last guy might be behind you and you keep walking away from him?

Achilles isn't perfect, but it's mostly to my tastes in a style of game I've enjoyed before especially in much older games (Bruce Lee, Death Sword I & II, Ninja Mission, etc.). Care-free hack-n-slash action with nice high lethality and savage gore.

Indeed. Finished the game today in about an hour or so...

Where is that one? A search on the Kongregate website didn't turn anything up.

This Robokill is fun. Am I missing something though? After you clear a room is there any point in blowing up all the boxes? Is there some way to open them without blowing them up?

How do you find the keys to the doors that are locked? Is it just random?

Some of the boxes contain bonus enemies. If you've already cleared the room and received your recharge, you'll get another recharge when you kill the so-called "trap" enemy.

The keys are placed in specific rooms.

Cool game, though it gets too difficult too fast. I had to play it at the library because my old machine isn't nearly powerful enough to run it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Be sure to not just shoot straight at the tanks, that does very little damage, and you'll run out of energy really quick. Tanks hitting tanks, walls or being close to exploding tanks causes the best damage, preferably at high speed.

I suggest using your first points for more energy, and your second level for the type 2 missile and some stability. You won't need to get more missile types until you see multiple big tanks start to appear. Then grab the type 5 (yellow) one, which you can use to cripple one tank while you fight the other. In the meantime, buy toys and energy to use them with.

I like the kinetic explosion.

Ya MMM2 gets hard quickly but you just need to learn to upgrade to deal with it, and there are several options for doing so. Different waves require different approaches and technologies/upgrades, too. Once I found appropriate approaches, it was not too hard, but it was usually at least a bit challenging and fun and satisfying because of the momentum and fireworks.

Where's this other Robokill game?

I finished the Robokill free stuff. Is it worth 10 $ for two more episodes ? I like the game, but i absolutly dislike the spartanic weapon system. Blaster, Shotgun, Missile launcher, light, medium, heavy. I need more diversity ?

I have a new (to me) favorite for its type (invaders shooter/dodger w. physics) in Ragdoll Invaders (http://www.kongregate.com/games/Ragdollsoft/ragdoll-invaders) !

I dunno how much they could do with robokill there.

After the first few rooms, it is all the same. After you get the first level done, you're also tricked out with all you need to just stand there and blow everything away.

I got to level four on Ragdoll Invaders. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

So far I've defeated 24/52 on Ragdoll Invaders (not sure what level that is) for a rank of "Cryptic Necromancer"... but mothership #25 has this circling laser beam thing that I wasn't up to adapting to.

That got me, too.

I find it helps to do 'dodging practice' - Just dodge, don't shoot back.

PvK

Yes, an interesting thing about the game, which fits the rag doll theme, is that the action follows what the player does, rather than the player driving the action directly. The player doesn't so much directly aim and blow away the enemy, as the body reacts to the player's movements, and so do the aliens react to the player's movements, and that is a path that can lead to easier success - you can not only predict but lead the opponent to leave room for your survival and their eventual defeat.

The rotating laser is just a different kind of pattern to incorporate, but having trained for one dance, I failed to shift to consistently deal with the new kind as well. Interesting though. When I want some more trance and flow therapy, I'll go back to it.

Dino Run is pretty good, quite impressive within its limited genre. I like the mechanics of running and scrambling around. And I like that it is like a fantasy Intellivision game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

My current all-time favorite flash game: Chronotron. It's on AddictingGames.com. It's one of the most creative game ideas I've seen in a long time.

I'm afraid to look as I'm on a roll on my current project, but I will look when I want a distraction. Thanks. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Oh Chronotron! I have played it on Kongregate - they had it as a weekly challenge. Nice interesting and very clever game, though I'm not much into puzzle types, and I got frustrated getting interrupted. All writers for Doctor Who should be forced to play this.

Hehe...

I went and tried it because it was recommended here. It does force you to think. Coordinating your selves is the big challenge, although on some levels I couldn't even figure out what to do for a while. At level 11 I gave up because I just didn't want to try to figure out how to use the see-saw thing.

Giving up is the same as getting stuck?

Wow, Chronotron is a lot of fun! It's about a robot that goes back in time for some reason. (His best friend is a talking pie!) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
I got to level 22 since yesterday, then took a break. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
Level 18 is pretty annoying because you have to be very precise with the timing of your jumps. Level 20 is very simple, it just contains a red herring.

[edit:] I meant to take a break but I got to level 31 now. The timing ones are the most annoying: level 30 has a see-saw that you can solve by timing your jump precisely so you land and jump off the crate while it's in the air.

I finished all the levels of Chronotron. I did need help on the last level. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif They gave a hint on the screen, but I couldn't figure out what it meant.

I never did get what the sign meant either. I just did it the hard but straightforward way (requires timing to within about 0.5 seconds on the last guy)
