I was just messing around today and had an idea.

So I screencapped the resources bit of the SE4 interface and made this t-shirt in photoshop:

I don't plan on selling it since I guess it would be copyright infringement. But it would be cool if somebody made a shirt like this.

it would be cool if someone said "Your proposed trade is acceptable to us" LOL

You can get the icons directly (and there are even jumbo versions not used in-game) from the pictures\general.bmp

That's a good design. You could request permission to do what you'd want to do with it from whomever cares. They probably don't unless you're planning on making money with it, in which case I imagine at most they'd want a cut, but it's really silly for anyone to worry and not worth their trouble I'd think. Basically it's fan art. Especially if you ask and they say go ahead.

I would buy one if it had larger icons and a more snappy comment. A comment such as "All ur mineralize iz minz" or a similar game comment in slang; or otherwise.

Hmm... the icons would be more distinctive if they were bigger, yeah.

How about:
"We admire your recent advances."
"Now is not the time for alliances."
"This trade is mutually beneficial for our peoples."
"Your cities shall burn with our vengeful fire!"
"We have revised your trade proposal. It is now acceptable to us."
"We look forward to your future offerings."
"Your empire is about to fall, we demand your surrender."
"You have fought valiantly, but genocide is not what we desire."
"Your military prowess is exceptional."
"We welcome our new ally. You have made the right choice, [%TargetEmperorTitle] [%TargetEmperorName]."
"Do you expect to lay claim to the entire galaxy?"
"We will not support such a reckless endeavor."

Actually, the Mega Evil Empire ones might be the best (and most easily recognizable:

"Your vile race has spread beyond any natural limits. We shall destroy you before you consume us.

"We can no longer let you take over every planet in sight. You must be stopped."

"Your civilization has become a threat to the rest of the galaxy. We cannot allow you to continue."

"The rampant expansion of the [%TargetEmpireName] cannot go unchecked. You endanger the other sentient races."

"The [%OurEmpireName] cannot allow you, [%TargetEmperorTitle] [%TargetEmperorName], to threaten us with your massive empire. Your very size makes you an intolerable threat."

That's brilliant! The ones in bold would work perfectly with this graphic... But I'm partial to the ones in italic, with perhaps a different graphic (one of the buttons, like the attack button? A ship model?) Great idea anyway.

Well first I was pretty busy with the move up here and no sooner did we get settled into an apartment then we got a home on the base and had to move again. Then I had a car accident (I was hit) in late December which laid me out. I'm starting to phase back into my old routines as I am feeling much better. The hit wasn't so bad but it did aggravate an older lower back injury.
