Lo all,

Just found this forum so be gentle http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif Im sure it has been asked before and dealt with, heres my problem. At some point in the game with say 4 fleets, I send my main attack fleet to cross from my territory into the enemies to destroy etc, and then from there to another part of my empire different from their starting point. However, sometimes I can not force this behaviour on the fleet. They go back to the nearest supply station, no matter what I try. I need them on the other side even though they might end up in yellow or red on supplies! I turned of minister control etc. Very helpfull if your fleet of new and shiny dreadnoughts gets stuck at a particulary uninteresting piece of space. Any help is welcome!

Someone who actually uses the ministers might be able to help more http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

I think only the Resupply minister needs to be turned off. I don't know for sure since I never used Ministers since v.0.20... http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif But Resupply minister is the only one I know of that does any resupplying. The Fleet minister only controls the creation/disbanding of fleets, but this would be the obvious choice for those not familiar with the workings of the game. Also check that the fleet doesn't have an individual minister (it will have a little head icon if it does), that might cause problems.

Yep the resupply minister will send the fleet back. This is due to some of the sharing properties of the fleet. ( Not an equal sharing ).

Say you have 3 ships (current supply / total supply)
500/900
600/900
300/700

Total fleet supplies is 1400/2500.
Not enough to send the fleet back since it is >50% but as the minister checks each ship it notices that the 3rd ship in the fleet has <50% so it sends the ship back to resupply. And since ships will not break fleet formation, all orders are overridden by the supply minister and resupply at nearest base becomes the order.

I never use that minister. Real pain in the you know what.

The only way around this is to turn off the minister

or disable minister control on the ships that are below the 50% threshold.

Also watch out for the minister that likes to upgrade ships at the worst possible moments.

I turn all ministers off.

Do not like any of them.
