First off I wanted to say thanks for the support so far for the game. I have heard some wondering what is going on and wondering about the reduction of traffic.
I don't really think the SE4 crowd is leaving, overall our site traffic has been down and one reason for that is the summer vacation season is ending and folks are trying to get their vacations in before school.
As far as SE4's future. First off we will be supporting it via patches for the conceivable future. I know at the very minimum we will be doing so until the end of the year, and probably into the next.
We also have something in the works, SE4 wise, with Aaron that I can't say much about. But if things go well you may see a nice surprise later this year.
As far as the future we have long term plans with Aaron to work on future titles and continuing this series. So don't give up hope yet http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif.
I would encourage folks far and wide from the PBW folks, to the modders, and etc to keep up the work since we are going to continue to support the game. I would also encourage fans with websites to drop me a line so I can get you into our banner exchange program.
Oh and in the very near future you guys with websites may get a shot at a special affiliate program that will allow you to make a percentage for selling our products. That way the developers, us, and you guys all get to support each other...
Hold on, the best is yet to come...

Thanks Richard and our appreciation to both you and Aaron for your continued support to make an excellent game even better. I have been on othter game site forums, etc, and I can realistically say you and Aaron have and continue to give the best support of any game company to any game out there....
our heartfelt thanks to both of you....

I second the request. "Is another patch coming out soon?" (The next few weeks?)

Nice. It's particularly good news compared to, say, Creative Assembly / Electronic Arts reneging on several months' worth of promises of another patch to fix known, glaring bugs in one of their products.

Thanks Shrapnel, MM, Aaron and co., this game is a bLast. The support is amazing...and actual creators/admin posting!!!( who'd a thunk it?, When was the Last time a big corp had their creators answer questions about a game that is 9+ months old??).
And thanks for (what my fiance calls) a 'somewhat healthy obsession' http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif...(if you have her 'approval' you guys must be damn good!!)

"And what the hell would you know about sanity?" demanded Beatrice. "There are depressed lemmings on the edge of cliffs who've got a better grasp on reality than you have. And more common sense."--Simon R. Green 'Deathstalker Rebellion'.
"We are all...the sum of our scars"....(paraphrased) Matt. R. Stover-'Blade of Tyshalle'.
"Memory," the old man said softly, "is tricky. I have learned two things from it. One: That without meaningful memories, there is no life. Two: that we are desperate for our lives to make sense, to have meaning,--and at a great enough remove , all memory is malleable." -Michelle West 'Sea of Sorrows', SunSword book IV.

I would never give up hope on this great game. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
(Anyway, I don’t need much hope, it is already great!)
I will surely support and mod this game in the future and with every patch Aaron provides.
P.S.: If you will ever be in search of a beta tester for SE5 with some experience in modding, I'm your man. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif

The RPG mentioned all over. There are mentions in many the the interviews, even on MM's site.
www.spaceempires.org (http://www.spaceempires.org) then click on 'articles'
You'll see them.
