Ok cut it out. This thread is not about discussing who is really an honor-less dog. We can call each other dishonorable but only in role-play fashion, rather than in person. Of course all the word war thats been going on between you two (the last 17 posts has been by either Executor or MadFrancis) might not be written in serious fashion and out of seriousness, but I still felt like I should say something (stupid or not) in order to stop the endless row of these two posters.

Like I said what's done is done let's forget the whole damn thing and continue.

Maybe if the community would have stepped in sooner this wouldn't be happening. But instead everyoen was content to let Executor run around throwing verabl abuse about and threatening to ruin the game (by casting Armegeddon) because of the type of people he was playing with. I will ALWAYS defend myself if someone calls me out publicly. So maybe instead of getting tired of the argument, the community could have standards of civility that it tries to maintain for everyone's sake. If calling people names and threatening to ruin the game because you don't care for the people you are playing with is acceptable to this community maybe I shouldn't bother with Dom3.

I am new to this community, but so far my experiences have been fairly negative. I have been jumped all over for asking for a turn 1 restart to a game that had been started and renamed three or four times which caused me to miss the starting email. From people's responses here (ComfortZone thread) you would have thought I was asking for their first born child.

And this. Coming to check out the thread of the game I have been playing for about a month and a half and seeing someone calling the people he is at war with names (personally and not in RP style) and threatening to ruin the game because he didn't like the players he was playing with.

Those are my introduction to the Dom3 community. You guys sure are welcoming. I'm shocked this place isn't just crawling with even more people wanting to be a part of this community.

I am not angry, or upset. Just responding to the crap I've been served since I've tried to become a member of this community.

You are by far the most hardheaded and narrow sighted person I know.

Armagedon was an e.g. as I don't even have the capability to use it. And yet again you missed the point there.

To me it seem that you're starting rows in all the games you're in. Maybe the problem is not in other players but in you?

The only shocking thing here is your behavior, as you take everything personally and try to turn it around. This community comes out as nothing BUT welcoming it's just you that has a problem with everyone.

Once again I ask who did I verbaly abuse, threaten and such? If people here thins that I am abusing then and threatening them I will gladly step out of this game as I am tired of pointlessly arguing with you.

In this game every single player is a honourless dog if the situation rises. It's a game for world domination, one wins and everyone else lose.

Now, both of you, calm down and have a beer

By the way, internets arguments.

Another little tid bit for those players that have forgetten and for the new players that probably don't know.

The victory condition as outlined in the opening thread is to hold 6 capitals for 3 full turns.

Now it doesn't look like the victory condition is recorded via VP, so I propose that once a player has captured their 6th capital, they save the .trn & .2h for each turn of their countdown turns so that there will be proof that you've met the victory requirement.

The terms are vague I suggest going this way,

Turn 1 - You've captured your 6th capital yay!
Turn 2 - You hold all 6
Turn 3 - You hold all 6
Turn 4 - You still have all 6. Congratulations you win!

I will also assume that your starting capital is included in the 6, therefore you only need to take 5. Also if at any point during the countdown you lose one of the 6 the countdown is turned back to 1 once you get your 6th again.

Once any player has met the condition and has their back ups ready to go, pm me and the game will be paused as the turns are checked.

Does that include provinces or just forts? Just to be sure...

I'm unsure exactly what you're asking, maybe this will clairfy.

I'm sure you've probably noticed that not all the capital provinces are named after the race. As such the person checking the files will be informed of the province number/location and will then click on the province and must be able to click on the special sites to verify that it is indeed a capital location. Being able to pull up the site description will be the check that you do own it.

Also if one of the capitals had their fort razed, owning the province is still considered towards the 6 capitals needed. (I think this is what you were asking, is that why I can't find the capital of Arco ;))

It's about time we end this game.
I'm in control of all the capitals I need to win, this is the second turn I hold them. I have multiple domes, SC's and extremly large armies in every one of them and there's no way in hell I can lose any of them.
So we can either end it right here or wait for everyone to send in those two last turns, up to you guys.

karnoza
March 8th, 2009, 12:22 PM
As far as I can see, you are not the only winner. We had simultaneous increase in "Forts" graph on turn 79. It was when I captured capitals of Abysia and Caelum. So, unless you may prove you captured your capitals earlier than turn 79 or someone can take the capitals I own, we both are the winners.

Executor
March 8th, 2009, 01:35 PM
Damn you actually have 6 capitals? Does the fact I have 7 capitals change anything?

ano
March 8th, 2009, 01:43 PM
I doubt it because the victory condition was to capture exactly 6. Sorry for intrusion but I've been watching this game a bit since karnoza started subbing for underdog Vanheim. Actually he was going to win from the very first turn (I think it was turn 58 or something like that). Position was terrific but he nearly managed to:).

Slobby
March 8th, 2009, 05:35 PM
Hohoho, here be the choices.

1. Mutually agree to share godhood.

2. Deathmatch.

For Karnoza to win he is to take 2 of Executors captured capitals (since Executor claims to have seven then taking 2 would bring him down to 5).

For Executor to win he is to take 1 of Karnoza's capitals, bringing him down to 5.

Under the assumption that the original time constraint is met before Karnoza/Executor meet the above req's there will be no 'waiting' period once the req's are accomplished. Ie. If Executor takes one of Karnoza's caps on turn X then he wins on turn X. Likewise for Karnoza, ie. the turn Karnoza takes the second capital away from Executor is the turn that he wins.

ano
March 8th, 2009, 05:45 PM
The game will last very long in the second case, believe me. It is more probable that they will capture other capitals than take any from each other. Also, it is a bit unfair, IMO, to add any conditions when they were not preset.

ano
March 9th, 2009, 06:34 AM
Karnoza sent me a message telling that he is seriously sick and that he's been put to the hospital till the weekend. Obviously, he won't be able to play these days if you decide to continue. AFAIK, he never delayed this game so (if you decide to continue), taking on account the late stage of the game, it would be nice if the game was stopped until Monday. If you decide to stop, I may send anyone the save of turn 79 which is required to verify his 6 capitals.

March 14th, 2009, 01:18 PM
Hello, everyone. I have returned. Thanks a lot for waiting.
I'd like to remind you that I've been subbing for previous Vanheim controllers from turn 58. It was not me who suggested the victory condition and I wouldn't want to dicuss if it was correct or fair but it was given and I eagerly tried to fulfil it. Now I may say that I succeeded. Noone will be able to take any of my capitals in 2 turns without breaking a NAP and even if someone decides to break it I hardly imagine how he may take my castles. I have plenty of SC's, powerful spellcasters and some other stuff to defend them - you may check it, of course. But I have absoultely no interest in continuing this game to find out who is an "absolute" winner.
On turn 58 Vanheim was, without exaggeration, an underdog. I did a good spurt but it doesn't make sense indeed to do something again and again when rules are being constantly changed. And also, it is a bit strange to expect that the runners who reached finish at the same moment will start boxing to find out who is the winner. ;)
Enough said. You may declare a draw or a win for Executor - probably he deserved it. For me this game will be over in 2 turns.

Slobby
March 14th, 2009, 06:55 PM

Executor

Man, Fomoria had a terrible starting position.
Hmm strange, I thought Cealum took Lankas capital, never realized those two provinces down there were connected.

I really hated this map by the way, I started two games on it at the same time and handed over one of them even doe I had a great position just because of the damn map, and I was gonna hand over this game also, but than Agartha (and some other nations) attacked me so I decided to stick around for a while, never expected to run up to the finish considering my position in this game at that time.

ano
March 21st, 2009, 05:36 PM
Yep, Fomorian position was very bad. Not terrific because they have sailing though.
That's why I'll probably never again play without predefined starting locations. This game brings a lot of randomness in many aspects and I don't like to add any more... I don't like games where starting position decides world's fates:).
However, this map is quite good and I really like it. It needs a few balancing modifications, of course, but it is good.

Yeah, all is good. Vanheim was pretty strong actually.
Only thing left is for you to declare the game over.

Hi Everyone

Just want to say sorry to all the players here for suddenly dropping out last October. This game had already suffered enough from problems and drop-outs before I went AWOL (plus the added problems of me being the admin at the time). All totally out of my control though. I had to go to Greece for a week due to work, but it all went pear shaped on the first day when the car I was in got hit by a truck. This began a nightmare three months in a Greek hospital, and then a dis-orientating time upon returning home trying to get things back to normal. Everything has worked out ok in the end, but it certainly did a bang-up job of buggering my life up for six months.

So like I said, sorry for disappearing like I did, and causing the inevitable problems to the stuttering flow this game had. But I'd like to thank whoever took over as admin from me ('Slobby' was it? haven't had chance to go through the thread yet to confirm it), and of course a "Thank You" to not only all the original players in this game, but also an extra thanks to all those who subbed into it during its course (wonder if this game set a record for subs?). Subs can be invaluable at keeping games interesting and balanced, and should always be well thanked for their services

Finally, can I offer my congratulations to 'Executor' and 'karnoza' on their joint victory. Very well done to the both of you. 'Executor' for being one of the original players who managed to make it through to the end, and win despite several stales that I know of. And 'karnoza' for subbing into not the greatest position ever, but managing to turn it around to such an extent that they shared the spoils in end. Hats off to both of those achievements :)

Look forward to playing in future games with you all, and happy gaming until the next time.
