But as I recall, you can't use emergency propolsion on an entire fleet; you have to take the ships out of the fleet and select it for each. Can be a pain if you have lots of ships.

Assume you have a 1kg squirrel
E=mc^2
E=1kg(3x10^8m/s)^2=9x10^16J
which, if I'm not mistaken, is equivilent to roughly a 50 megaton nuclear bomb.
Fear the squirrel.

You are correnct Spoo.
We should add that to the wish list. That if every ship has the same ability you should be able to use it for the fleet.
I use the em props alot. I will save alot of ships when their limping home. I also like to put them on my 'crippler cruisers' which hunt in packs of 4 after big battles looking for wounded ships.

At least I can have my 17 speed Auxiliaries! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif They rarely travel in fleets anyway.

I cannot figured out why I never thought of this... The emergency populsion pack V is a disposible device that gives you once-off 5 extra movement points and must be repaired for the next use, but the bulk of my transports are multi-purposes ships with a repair bay on them, so they can self-repair. Now why not fit an emergency populsion pack on them? I'm at max tech and a populsion expert, so their normal speed is 12, plus an EPP V makes 17!! WOW!! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
Even more amazing, there is an engineering baseship with a spaceyard and 4 repair bays in all of my fleets. What if I fit a EEP V on each of my ships? That makes a 14 speed fleet!

Yeah, NOW only one is allowed per ship. But in the good old days, Wow! You could use as many EPPs as you wanted, and even use them on Starbases (through a cheezy exploit discovered by yours truly http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif ). What a bLast sending your Death Star across the entire galaxy in one turn to assist your exploration ship in convincing the enemy homeworld to surrender!

And, of course, you can put multiple emergency propulsion components on ships so if you have a baseship you can travel across the galaxy in one turn.

This thing is pretty amazing... ever seen a baseship wrap into a system, going right across it and wrap out the other side in one turn? http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
