I am currently hosting a co-operative PBEM game using Version 1.35 of SE4. We would like a more challenging AI and I thought we could try the TDM-Modpack which I believe should give us more of a challenge. However, the current Version (1.80 of the modpack, I think) requires Version 1.41 of SE4. Any suggestions on how I can continue with my existing PBEM game and, at the same time, try out the modpack as a single player?
(As a long-time lurker, I am coming out of the closet, so to speak.)

Willi - If you have enough space, just have two Versions installed. I typically have 2 or 3 Versions installed with different "modded" states. The footprint of the game is actually quite small compared to other current games.

i have not seen any problems in upgrading a game running on 1.35 to the latest Version. and I have seen it done on at least three different games. maybe you can convince all your players to upgrade to the new Version?

I would suggest to update to latest SE4 Version and then to the latest TDM-Version. I always updated my SE4 and it never had any negative aspects on the PBEM - quite the contrary.
