View Full Version : Is there a way to not watch ship moves every turn?

Can't find the option. Any help is appreciated. Towards the end it takes 5 minutes to watch all my ships move.

Just finished my first game. Midlife, medium AI, basically all the default settings.

Will post a game report.

I believe there is an option called 'ship animation', click this off and you should just see where the ships end up, and not the whole movement path....(Or of course you could just play sim-move (simultanious), everything happens 'off camera', good training for pbw too...)

The option is in the same menu as "Save Game" and "Load Game", etc. In that menu, select "Options"; the first and second entry are "Animate ship movement in combat" and "Animate ship movement in system" or something like that.

Of course, if you have a slow computer or you've been playing a while and your RAM is full, it could still take a while to move your ships. But it should at least be faster with animation turned off.

Thanks all. My 2nd game is moving along at about 4 times the pace thanks to your suggestions.

game 1 was:

Slow tactical combat
No waypoints
No repeat build orders
Animate Ship Movement
