View Full Version : New ship names: beers

I want to do a new list for ship names using different brands of beer. While it is not hard to find that (I found lists with 6000 different ones), I wanted to add a little personal touch to that and also get all of you involved. The posted list consists of beers that dogscoff gave me plus beers that I have drunk (as far as I remember) or at least sound familiar too me. Most of them are German, but you can also find some international ones. If your favorite or local brew is missing please post it here and I will add it to the list.
Thanks,
Rollo

when I did a Google search to spellcheck Old Frothingslosh. The only ones I remembered on my own were Iron City, O.F., Pabst, and Schlitz. I couldn't find another reference to "Rasberry" when I tried to spellcheck it.

The only reference Google found to "Rasberry Leghumper" was that page, but there were no hits at all when I searched for "Raspberry Leghumper". I probably should have just put a (sic) on that name.

Not a beer drinker, but...
"Schaefer is the one beer to have when you're having more than one."
I think that was a Philly brand of beer, and I think it's gone now. Not sure. Just remember that jingle from childhood.

I remember the Schaefer's jingle, too; I grew up within the Philadelphia TV market's broadcast radius. And I can't believe I forgot Rolling Rock. It did finally occur to me that I've got a take-out menu from the bar & grill down the street. The ones they list that haven't been mentioned yet:
Augusteiner
Brooklyn
Chesterfield
Honey Brown
Yuengling
I dunno if you want to include Zima. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif

Chinese beer originally came from Germany when the European nations where dividing the nation up into the Spheres of Influence and later the Open Door Policy. They built a couple breweries which the Chinese still run today, and some new ones...
Maybe something good did come from Imperialism? http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif
