I know already that I will invoke the wrath of one specific individual, but I have to state that I'm seriously considering removing the link to Shrapnel Games from my Favorites list as well as not entertaining any ideas about spending any more money with Shrapnel. This place used to be a nice place to go with lots of information relating to Space Empires. Now it has fallen to a level I really do not know how to describe. It seems to have been overrun by (IMHO) useless drivel by someone posing as a very deep philosopher. (In some societies, people like that end up in rubber rooms 'cause there on a much different 'plane of thought' than the rest of us.) Of course, now I'll be labeled as a 'mental midget' 'cause I can't understand his trancendental thinking or other such bull$#!t. I do understand that this is a public place, but c'mon now - what is it with this crap!

Yes, that is my opinion - crap! No, I'm not a 15 year old either (if that's what your thinking), but a fairly well educated 40 year old with a pretty good grasp of the English language. (I think a lot of people here are also and are offended by nuch of what is said here.) I just do not want to be bothered with having to sift thru all the crap being posted.

I will just start posting at other SE sites (where they're not afraid to lock out this kinda' stuff) and be satisfied with just downloading updates, shipsets, and patches from this site. I think that I may speak for a lot of people that prefer to remain silent for fear of verbal reprimands from one such individual - and you know who you are... This is all I have to say reguardless of what else will follow in this post - this stuff just is NOT WORTH MY TIME!

Thanks for listening....

Take my advice man, to deal with people are are jerks....

Ignore them.

Look at the Hadrian vs. Judj grudge.

When I started completely ignoring Judj, the fighting ended.

i would not be against stronger moderation. it might mean some of my drivel gets thrown out, but thats not necessarily a bad thing.

My general rule is don't post drivel about or respond to drivel and it will go away.

"This place used to be a nice place to go with lots of information relating to Space Empires. Now it has fallen to a level I really do not know how to describe. It seems to have been overrun by (IMHO) useless drivel"

i regret that alot of the drivel that we are seeing is unecouraged, undirected drivel that has been self perpetuating despite good attempts at ignoring it. if it was a flame war, one person could back out. this is mindless, and moderation is probably the only answer.

Richard, tks for taking care of LCC, is there anyway to eliminate some of his Posts in Lemmy's thread "How old are You", this was a good and interesting thread and now it has a bunch of garbage. Then when you start reading it, after several of his Posts, you just give up and go else where. Not fair to Lemmy and the rest as this ruins an enjoyalble thread.

just some ideas mac
