I really didn't want to have to do this but he would not listen to specific requests to desist and obey the rules.
In any case you can go back to your SE:IV postings http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif.

Thank you....I finally wanted to speak up as a 'lurker' who just didn't understand him/or his postings....I just found it very odd that he started out as a good poster, had alot to offer the game (maps, long game Posts etc.) then he all of a sudden developed a 'second personality' that spouted off wierd/off kilter stuff...Don't know if he was trying to develop an Online persona or what...but it was just not appropriate here.....I just didn't want to get involved, it wasn't my place...but again thank you, off topic Posts/trains of thought are fine but there has to be a limit...I wouldn't want some nameless joe posting how he did his laundry/events of his favorite soap etc...On a Last note they are also cracking down on the DC comics message Boards, closing threads right/left and centre. If you post something offtopic/fanfic, its gone within minutes...We have freedom of a sort here, lets not abuse it, it only takes one person to spoil the whole thing (which hopefully LCC didn't....)

"And what the hell would you know about sanity?" demanded Beatrice. "There are depressed lemmings on the edge of cliffs who've got a better grasp on reality than you have. And more common sense."--Simon R. Green 'Deathstalker Rebellion'.
"We are all...the sum of our scars"....(paraphrased) Matt. R. Stover-'Blade of Tyshalle'.
"Memory," the old man said softly, "is tricky. I have learned two things from it. One: That without meaningful memories, there is no life. Two: that we are desperate for our lives to make sense, to have meaning,--and at a great enough remove , all memory is malleable." -Michelle West 'Sea of Sorrows', SunSword book IV.

Good job. It's my experience that those type of people like to re-register and continue to pester / cause trouble...

If it is blocked by IP, like I can do in my forums, then they can keep them out for a good long time.

unless he uses dialup. or has multiple ip's. or calls his isp to change his address assignment. probably not worth the wory unless another problem crops up.

First we deleted his account, next we disabled his email from being used to register a new account. Yes he can get around that but we'll deal with that as we come to it.
No banning by IP would be insane http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif.

Nothing elaborate, nothing sophisticated. Just a simple "Thank you, Richard".

Thanks, Richard. I haven't flamed someone(on purpose) for many, many moons, until I'd see the deliberate OTT that person was spewing. I'm not a SEIV regular, but I know gratuitous when I see it http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif

I had an ex-roommate who behaved quite similarly when he stopped taking his medication.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the
human mind to correlate all of its contents. We live on a placid
island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was
not meant that we should go far. -- HP Lovecraft, "The Call of Cthulhu"

Who is this LCC, and what did he do to warrent getting Banned?
Seems like he really had to do something horrible to get Banned from this site. If thats the case, then forget I asked, and let this thread die.

Use the forum's search facility to find threads started by him. Take a look at some of the more recent ones ("philosophy" is the prime example) and you'll see why he was Banned. No-one really minded until he started invading other threads.
He wasn't unpleasant, just very annoying.
