Nobody has ever noticed this?

Really?

IIRC Machaka is the only nation that don't have any national spell at all...

zzcat, if I remember right, EA Van doesn't have any either.

Anyway, we also have Son of Fenrer and Fenrir.

I thought sorceror was a valid alternative spelling of sorcerer.

I think there are still few nations with no national spells, and several with only one or two very basic ones. EA&MA Atlantis don't have any IIRC, EA Ulm and most Vanheims only have Sloth of Bears or the spell that summons Dire Wolves, I don't think EA R'lyeh has any special spells and it doesn't have Void Gate either, EA Marverni...

Yeah, I don't think EA R'lyeh has any National spells. Certainly, there aren't any listed in the manual. I would definitely vote for them as the least played Nation. I don't even play them very often, and they're one of my very favorite Nations, thematically. They're just not that fun to play, from a purely mechanical perspective.

They also only have 1 hero, Auluudh, the first mindlord, as far as I can remember.

I like how even the base gem income of Machaka are the Pan-African colors.

Atlantis has Monster Fish. Marverni got some love and now has a few national spells to summon Boars of various sorts.

Monster fish is indeed very nice. Kristoffer seemed to like my underwater Tart suggestion, so I keep hoping we'll see those, someday. Faith is a fine thing :)

Definitive, irrefutable proof that Diablo is the most unplayed game, ever.

I liked Diablo 1 better than Diablo 2.

One might even extend this proof to World of Warcraft, too. Most unplayed game!

Maybe Machaka have a specific type of sorcerer they call a sorceror? ;)

Also my first thought. But...

@lch...The presence of a blatant misspelling isn't the proof. The proof is that this blatant misspelling is in THIS game, with its passionately devoted/loving developers and its insanely nitpicky/whining followers, would have been quickly corrected long ago if anyone had noticed. :)

I think Ich was trying to show that 'sorceror' is an acceptable alternative spelling, rather than a blatant misspelling.

I wouldn't call it an acceptable alternative, I'm just hardly convinced that a typo in the game is any kind of "proof" about users not playing a nation. Nobody cares about a typo like that. From personal expectations, I'd say that maybe Agartha would be the least played nation by most people - who wants to play a nation of mutated earthworms? - or EA R'lyeh or so.

cleveland, in case you haven't noticed, there's a thread about in-game typos. There's stuff in there that hasn't been touched for over a year, have a look at my repost of things from page two a while ago.

Anyway, good news on the Machaka front, KO is playing the nation in MP, Asia Twist. So hopefully plenty of, 'goodies' in a future patch! If we are really good, perhaps a Ea and La Machaka as well?!?

Go, go spiders...

Of course I wasn't really trying to prove anything. Hyperbole, and whatnot.

I just felt so bad for poor Machaka when I realized that nobody cared enough about him to even notice his TITLE was misspelled - perhaps not a good olde fashioned misspelling (see here (http://www.typobuddy.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/misspelling-is-easy.jpg)) - but certainly inconsistent with the game's own conventions.

Truth be told, I like the little devils. Strat move 3, spiders everywhere, fireballs from the sky. Cool stuff. But still chosen last in the all-MA nations game I organized. Who knows, maybe fixing their title will give them a confidence boost (or at least correct their identity crisis). :D

I have noticed, but I felt this was such an egregious oversight that it deserved special attention. ;)

Since you don't have to be playing Machaka to see that text, I'd say all you've done is prove that there is nobody who reads the complete nation titles. :) Or else they just have a laid-back attitude about typos in a Swedish game. I'm not sure which category I fall into, maybe both. For instance, I love LA Agartha and EA C'tis but I couldn't tell you what their Era titles are.

Mutated earthworms? Hmmm. Pale, one-eyed amphibious giants. I think you're probably right! Who'da thunk it? Agarthans *are* earthworms!

I always assumed that they were mutated cave salamanders. Slap an eyepatch on an Axolotl and you've pretty much got an Agarthan right there.

Agree about Agarthans being cave salamanders - this also explains why they are amphibious... Though they should have tail in this case! :)
About origianl topic - I personally would prefer Machakans to retain "sorceror" writing, though of course it should be retained in other Machaka-related texts. And I like them as a nation, it's just that there are so many other cool nations in the game! (and it's just possible that people tend to settle in one nation - expecially if it's present in various ages, which Machaka sadly isn't!)

If we're talking about Olms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Proteus_humanfish.jpg) here, then I'll agree.

From the main screen: "Select your pretender God's skill in the eigth [sic] different magic paths."

I guess no one takes magic on their pretenders, either. ;) Irrefutable proof.

Just wait ~1 month. I have some rather, er, disruptive information on Machaka. :)

While looking through the nation for dom 3 K nation idea's I noticed the black sorcs live in the holy mountains, the sorceresses live there too but the regular sorcs don't live there. The black sorcs are obviously more powerfull but the females are not that strong so I was wondering why they are allowed there and the male weaker sorcs aren't.. I'm guessing black sorc sexual preferences have something to do with it but I still find it somewhat strange... why not black sorceresses that live there?

I think it has more to do with the Sorceresses' ability to transform into spiders when they die, like Black Sorcerers.
