Has anyone made a Dominions map of Westeros (from the wonderful JRR Martin series "A game of Thrones")?
There seem to be a lot more Dom 2 maps than Dom 3 maps. Any pointers to great Dom 3 maps would be appreciated.
Thanks!

There is a sticky at the top of the Maps and Mods forum that lists all maps, and has links for downloading them.
And no, I have not seen a Westeros map, but that would be very cool. It would have to be drawn from scratch, I think, or traced, since the maps in the books are quite small.

I already did some groundwork for a Westeros map in this thread: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=39527
What I'll need are people that own the board game version of it to use those province borders, which seem fairly good to use as Dom3 map borders, too, and/or people who can draw pretty province borders, preferably as some vectorized paths with some path effect applied to it then. I haven't dabbled with that kind of computer graphics work yet.

You would probably have to do it in sections. Not the ENTIRE map since Im not sure that can be done in 1500 provinces or less.
Also, Id avoid scanning in the original map since there could be some issues posting it here if its not a public domain or open source game. Unless of course you got permission.

Well of course it can be done in less that 1500 provinces.. just put fewer dots in there.

I think somebody else already did a map of Westeros before with several hundred provinces, which is unsuited for gaming, especially because of the too low resolution of the image for the required zoom levels, unless you like blocky graphics. Hence I was asking if somebody owns the board game, because their borders look like they're feasible for a Dom3 map, along the lines of Silent Seas maybe.

I don't want to use the boardgame as the map image. I want to transport over their province borders to the image that I already have. From photographs of the game board on boardgamegeek and similar review sites and from the freely downloadable manuals, I can already see at least 80% of the board, but I'd like a better photo so I won't have to guess the rest.

You'd need to make the rivers uncrossable though else there would be way to few chokepoints.. in the norht and south that would still be even with rivers as chokepoints..
with rivers as chokepoints the centre might have to much of the though...
Personally I'd say you'd need to include the maps of the books of the lands across the seas too and it would improve the map for play in dominions.
