If I recall correctly, isn't there a user made program out there that lets you use mods, without having to reinstall SEIV if you want to play with defaults when your done?

There is a program, but you don't really need it. (I do recommend it!)

Patch SE4 to the latest. One of the patches adds a "mod folder" option. What this does is allow you to put mods into their own folders, then use the file path.txt to switch between them. No reinstalling needed.

the way to go is to use Matryx's mod chooser, which does what you describe without you having to change the path.txt each time. simply find a post here by Matryx and his signature has a link to the program.
