Made a test game (see the fighter thing below) in techmod. One system, two empires. At the end, I noticed that the advanced ship yard was a little powerful- same cost as the regular, and 8750 speed, faster than a indifferent homeworld.
Anyway, I decided to blow up the single star. Wham, 20 planets and 80b colonists, gone. Switched turns to the next empire. Usual "you loose" message. Switch back to the first- you loose, and then immediately afterward, the "Victory!" screen. You know, the one that says something about your name being exhalted for generations to come?
Not in this case, I think http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
