Thanks for the kind words AOE. I pity your next foe. :)

Jomon is now AI.

I might have been able to withstand another defeat from R'lyeh if Mictlan hadn't turned on me. As it is, I am afraid I have nothing left to fight with.

Thanks for letting me play, I had fun and I learned a great deal.

Thanks for playing, Fate.

I'm going to be out of town for the weekend. If you could ensure that the hosting of the next turn is delayed until monday I'd appreciate it.

Gregstrom
November 6th, 2009, 02:02 AM
Done. Have a good weekend.

Gnah, putting mages next to cold radiating guys, my old nemesis. At least it's not as painful as teleporting SCs underwater with a ring of frost res instead of water breathing.

Bogarus may have crushed me, but at least they're down some SCs.

Oh, in what cursed times we live!

When our God taught us to tame the horses and told us to set out and conquer the world and fill it with our children and works, how could we know that outside the empire there exist only barren wastelands inhabited by ghosts and demons! How could we know that this curse would also strike our homes, undoing our works and withering our people!

Is that some sort of admission to casting Armageddon, or are you just commenting on it while in character?

Illuminated One
November 28th, 2009, 02:05 PM
If I was admitting to it I'd go "hahahaha" a lot.

AreaOfEffect
November 28th, 2009, 04:20 PM
Oh right. Silly me. Personally, I've been working on the "Mwa" of my Mwahaha.

Illuminated One
November 29th, 2009, 10:07 AM
Now that the late game madness starts can we increase the hosting time to 120h? I know 96 is already much, but it's a slowpace game. :)

Gregstrom
November 30th, 2009, 07:59 AM
Hmm, I could do. I'd like to take a quick poll of people's opinions before kicking off with that, though.

AlgaeNymph
November 30th, 2009, 08:01 AM
I'm okay with an extension, this isn't my only game and I'm losing anyway.

AreaOfEffect
November 30th, 2009, 11:39 AM
My hope was to still have the game end within a year of starting it. We're already past the 9 month mark. I imagine the holiday seasons will bring us several delay requests.

I won't oppose the 5 day turn, but I would never approve of anything greater. In return though, I would request that Pangaea be set to AI. He's staled 15 times and just hasn't been playing at all lately. His presence in the game makes the quickhost option rather pointless.

LDiCesare
November 30th, 2009, 03:23 PM
I don't really mind given my current state, but I'd rather have turrns come faster to get done with it personally. so definitely, if Pangaea has been stalling, find a sub or turn it ai before lengthening the duration.

Agema

I'm easy either way. I'm not a contender, not having to hurry to get my turns in, and they're not taking so long I'm dying of boredom.

Illuminated One
December 2nd, 2009, 11:54 PM
Well, if the armageddons continue there will be a lot less micro, so we can probably keep the schedule.

Agema
December 7th, 2009, 11:10 AM
I think the game's rapidly approaching a point where Tien Chi, Caelum, Bogarus and to a lesser extent maybe Rlyeh will be deciding matters, so there's a good chance we'll know within 3 months who is the winner.

Can I ask who the new Pangaea player is, or whether the old one has awoken from slumber?

Gregstrom
December 7th, 2009, 11:52 AM
Pan is currently played by the AI. I don't foresee the situation changing.

Illuminated One
December 7th, 2009, 01:17 PM
I do. He will attack me, his most friendly neighbour. Ungrateful AI.

Due to the holiday season, and all that comes with it, from the 18th to around newyears I'll be unable to post turns. Now I can either post for a short term sub, but I doubt I'll be able to find anyone at this time of year willing.

The second option I'm about to propose is that we simply take a break until the holiday season is over. This of course would have to be a group decision, however I've seen this work for several other games. Anyhow, I'm gone for the weekend (and have my current turn in) so I'll check back on Monday to see what was decided and post for a sub if needed.

Gregstrom
December 10th, 2009, 06:01 PM
There's so little of me left that I don't mind either way.

Illuminated One
December 10th, 2009, 07:01 PM
Yeah, I'm in favor of a one week break.

AreaOfEffect
December 11th, 2009, 01:23 AM
I'm not opposed.

cupido2
December 11th, 2009, 05:56 AM
I don't mind.

LDiCesare
December 11th, 2009, 03:27 PM
No problem for what remains of me either.

Gregstrom
December 12th, 2009, 04:51 AM
I'll put that in place on the 18th, then.

AreaOfEffect
December 15th, 2009, 07:28 PM
4 out of 8 of us have our turns in. I know this is a slow game, yet if we can get the other 4 turns files submitted, we could have a fresh turn to slowly examine during the break.

Fakeymcfake
December 16th, 2009, 12:52 AM
Better actually for the people who are not going to be off that people take their time. Have the next turn come in, host, then slap the delay on that turn.

Again, I'm not going to be able to do anything until the 1st of January at the earliest, so really there is no rush for anything.

Illuminated One
January 3rd, 2010, 01:18 PM
Can I get a 12h delay for tomorrow? I'm not sure if I can manage to get the turn in.

Gregstrom
January 4th, 2010, 01:54 PM
Apologies, but you've fallen victim to a 12 hour drive and associated recovery time. If everybody votes for a rollback, I guess we can do one.

LDiCesare
January 4th, 2010, 02:43 PM
I'm in such a state that I don't care about a rollback, so that's not a problem for me.

Illuminated One
January 4th, 2010, 04:26 PM
Well, I've got a short turn in but two others have staled. I'm neutral on the matters of a rollback.

AreaOfEffect
January 5th, 2010, 12:20 PM
I fell victim to an entirely mixed up vacation. I haven't had the chance to see the damage to my turn yet. A roll back would be welcomed from my perspective.

Gregstrom
January 5th, 2010, 07:10 PM
That's 5 of 8 voices heard. I'd like to hear from the rest ebfore continuing, though.

cupido2
January 6th, 2010, 06:52 AM
If everybody is pro rollback, I don't mind.

Gregstrom
January 6th, 2010, 02:17 PM
Well, we have two pro-rollback and a lot of 'well, whatever' so far. Barring an actual objection within, say, 48 hours, I'll make it so.

Gregstrom
January 9th, 2010, 03:13 AM
Hokay, rollback is taking place. Could only the stalers submit turns, please.

LDiCesare
January 9th, 2010, 11:12 AM
Damn. I resubmitted my orders. Not used to rollbacks. I don't think I changed anything important though.

Gregstrom
January 9th, 2010, 12:54 PM
While I'd rather no turns were submitted other than the two stalers, I guess I'll cope.

cupido2
January 25th, 2010, 06:52 AM
Haven't seen any turns for a long time... have I won?

Gregstrom
January 25th, 2010, 12:14 PM
You probably have, but not officially... :D

There's just been a turn generated, actually.

cupido2
January 26th, 2010, 04:00 AM
Oh. Hehe. Well, I even wouldn't win if everybody turned AI.

Gregstrom
January 26th, 2010, 06:39 PM
Given the degree of staling happening, I'm rather tempted to call the game for AofE.

Illuminated One
January 27th, 2010, 02:13 PM
Well, I'm fine with that - I was about to ask for a sub.
Shame I never felt secure enough to attack Bogarus...

Gregstrom
January 27th, 2010, 02:15 PM
Same here, really. Pyth and Ulm staling out didn't help, but I think Bogarus was pretty much stacked to win anyway.

LDiCesare
January 29th, 2010, 03:51 PM
The joke of a nation that's left of Man isn''t particularly fun to play now. I'm just waiting for Caelum to eat my remains. I just managed to win one battle against them that's worth calling battle. I will keep playing turns until the game is called done but there's little interest left for Man.

LDiCesare
February 3rd, 2010, 11:47 AM
I already said I had no problem with the game ending, but I'd like if people who are in good shape could tell us how the fared. I'll do a smallish AAR here, which could probably be titled "What not to do", when the game is officially over.

Illuminated One
February 3rd, 2010, 09:51 PM
Same for me.
I'm sorry but I'm really out of this game and don't have the time to get into it again, so if anyone wants to continue, you'd have to halt the game until I found I sub or let me stale. Well, it has been fun and I think a sub could try to fight it out with AoE, but it's completely fair to declare him winner now.
Do you notice my dominions graph scyrocketing? Now figure what happens when Ermor is dead... Sheesh, I probably have more temples than everyone else combined.

Gregstrom
February 4th, 2010, 02:52 AM
Right, that's it then. AoE wins - congratulations!!

cupido2
February 4th, 2010, 04:38 AM
