April 13th, 2009, 09:30 PM
yay, more games!!

i'll take pythium

Frozen Lama
April 13th, 2009, 09:56 PM
actually, could i change my mind? can i take utgard instead?

Alpine Joe
April 13th, 2009, 09:57 PM
In as mictlan...hopefully i can survive into the endgame in this one.

Lavaere
April 13th, 2009, 10:33 PM
What era were you thinking for this game anyway

Fakeymcfake
April 14th, 2009, 12:30 AM
I'm fairly new to LA games if that counts, I'll take Marignon if you'll have me.

Cicadian
April 14th, 2009, 04:43 AM
I would like to claim marignnon please

Lavaere
April 14th, 2009, 05:50 AM
whoops, guess its in the thread title.
LA Rus/Bogarus if you would be so kind

Goodchild
April 14th, 2009, 07:15 AM
I'd love to play, this will be my first MP so I'll be easy pickin's.

I'll choose Arcoscephale.

Festin
April 14th, 2009, 09:09 AM
I'd like to play Jomon.

Silence0
April 14th, 2009, 11:13 AM
If it's still open I would like to play carrion/black centaurs aka pan.

Fantomen
April 14th, 2009, 11:26 AM
I´m in as LA Atlantis

Festin
April 14th, 2009, 11:58 AM
Also, maybe we'll change the map to Cradle of Dominion, for example?

Tolkien
April 14th, 2009, 03:31 PM
Lavaere: Ah, knew I forgot something.:o

Cicadian: can you choose another nation? Marignon was picked the post right before yours.

Festin: Cradle of Dominions is fun, but I'd like the game to be a bit more...dynamic. Cradle is a great map, but it's more defense oriented: chokepoints everywhere, lots of terrain blocks to slow down expansion and movement, and it has edges, which means people starting closer to the sides have less territory they need to worry about and defend. The Desert Eye doesn't have as many terrain roadblocks, and the wraparound helps eliminate the advantages of having an edge on the map.

I mean I can change if it the overwhelming majority are in favor, but I'd like to try out a different map.

Also: If it's at all possible, I'd like to see Ermor and R'lyeh in the game. Both Ermor and R'lyeh because it thematically fits the "Cataclysm" theme, and R'lyeh so that Atlantis doesn't have a monopoly on the sea. It's just a suggestion though: I don't want to force anyone to take a nation they hate or don't want.

Fakeymcfake
April 14th, 2009, 04:08 PM
Ermor is somewhat shunned as far as multiplayer games go, either because they're played really well and can quickly become a powerhouse or they're quickly attacked because people know how much of a threat they can become.

R'lyeh for more or less the same reason is also rare however it is by no means as scary long term.

Anyhow, just saying you're not likely to see these nations played often.

Tolkien
April 14th, 2009, 04:19 PM
Doesn't mean I can't suggest it. :p

Fantomen
April 14th, 2009, 06:12 PM
Those are not very good nations for a noob game IMO.

Cicadian
April 14th, 2009, 06:35 PM
Heh not entirely sure how I didn't see that post! In that case I'll take Tien Chi please :)

Tolkien
April 14th, 2009, 09:05 PM
Well, we've got ten, so I think we can start deciding on the settings.

Anyone want any changes to them currently? Change of map? Difficult Research? Increased Magic Sites?

Frozen Lama
April 14th, 2009, 09:12 PM
well I'm always a fan of increased magic sites, makes the game more interesting. oh and I rather don't like difficult research.

Fantomen
April 14th, 2009, 09:54 PM
I vote for standard settings exept renaming on and Hall of fame 15. I wouldn´t mind graphs off either.

Maps, I vote for cradle of dominion or alexander, but orania is fine as well.

Alpine Joe
April 14th, 2009, 09:59 PM
I would also vote for bumping magic sites to 45. It helps people reliably get the gem types they need.

other than that.......15 members of the HOF sounds right, renaming on.

P3D
April 14th, 2009, 10:08 PM
I'd try it again as Gath.

Of course, we need a bigger map then.

Lavaere
April 15th, 2009, 02:51 AM
one of the normal maps please. HoF 15, renaming and magic sites 45 sound nice

Illuminated One
April 15th, 2009, 05:00 AM
If there's still space I'd like to be in as R'lyeh.

If R'lyeh isn't allowed I'll take Pythium.

Festin
April 15th, 2009, 05:29 AM
Renaming, HoF 15 and increased magic sites are fine, and I also still suggest changing the map to the larger one, like CoD, or even Orania if we get more players.

OoohSnap
April 15th, 2009, 06:48 AM
If there is still place I'd like to sign up as Midgard, Age of Men

Fantomen
April 15th, 2009, 07:06 AM
So we´re 13 players now. Time to close signups and get started?

Tolkien
April 15th, 2009, 03:12 PM
For the settings, HoF 15 is reasonable and I don't think there's anyone objecting to it. I think we're going to have to vote on Increasing Magic Sites to 45 though, because some people might object to it.

Also: for some reason, I thought Desert Eye was bigger then it actually was. I'm going to bump it up to Orania for some more territory to make it less crowded, and the same reasons I picked Desert Eye apply to it. Since the map size is now doubled, I don't think we have too much trouble fitting in a few more people, provided they still want in. If we can fit in a full game with all nations, why not?

The nations still left (to those still interested):
Man
Ermor
Agartha
Abysia
Caelum
C'tis
Patala
Pythium

P3D
April 15th, 2009, 03:35 PM
I'd suggest difficult research for the large map (but that's me as usual).

Tolkien
April 15th, 2009, 04:26 PM
In which case, we vote on that as well. :p So can everyone participating please yes/no:
Increased Magic Sites (to 45)
Difficult Research

P3D
April 15th, 2009, 04:47 PM
Yes to both. 'Sites 35' would affect non-blood nations much more.

Alpine Joe
April 15th, 2009, 05:02 PM
yes to sites 45, no to difficult research

Fakeymcfake
April 15th, 2009, 05:45 PM
No to site increase yes to difficult research.

Fantomen
April 15th, 2009, 06:21 PM
No to both.

Festin
April 15th, 2009, 06:47 PM
Yes to sites, no to difficult research.

Silence0
April 15th, 2009, 08:12 PM
Yes to sites, whatever you guys prefer for research.

Frozen Lama
April 15th, 2009, 08:41 PM
Yes to sites, no to difficult research

Ornedan
April 16th, 2009, 04:06 AM
I'd like to be Abysia.

And yes to sites, no to difficult research.

OoohSnap
April 16th, 2009, 04:28 AM
Yes to Sites, no to Difficult Research

Illuminated One
April 16th, 2009, 01:31 PM
No to difficult research.

Tolkien
April 16th, 2009, 08:34 PM
Well, sofar:
Sites: 7 Yes, 3 No, 1 Abstain
Research: 2 Yes, 8 No, 1 Abstain.

Personally, I'd say No to sites (being a blood nation :p) and Yes to Difficult research, but I'm overruled.

So Normal Research and Increased Sites to 45.

Tolkien
April 16th, 2009, 09:00 PM
Also: Submit your pretenders.

Ornedan
April 17th, 2009, 12:32 PM
Victory condition? I'm assuming last man standing, but I don't see it having been stated yet.

Tolkien
April 17th, 2009, 02:36 PM
Ah, yeah, I forgot.

Last one standing.

Cicadian
April 17th, 2009, 08:16 PM
I suggest PMing those who have not submitted their pretenders yet so we can get this show on the road!

Goodchild
April 18th, 2009, 12:04 AM
What is the best way to send him my pretender? I cannot find a way to do it here on the forum.

Tolkien
April 18th, 2009, 01:06 AM
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showpost.php?p=529316&postcount=2

Basically create your pretender god, send the file to pretenders@llamaserver.net with the game name in the title, and you're set.

If you're using a Vista and can't find the 2h files, go to C:\Users\<insert user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\dominions3\savedgames\newlords

Lavaere
April 18th, 2009, 01:11 AM
Last man standing or last team if they formed an alliance and agree to end.

Goodchild
April 18th, 2009, 02:06 AM
Thanks Tolkien, I got mine in now.

P3D
April 18th, 2009, 02:27 AM
If we have the alliance clause could we limit alliances to two nations?

Fantomen
April 18th, 2009, 05:12 AM
You mean maximum 2 nations sharing the victory? I agree.

Wouldn´t want to limit alliances diring the game though, just the winning condition.

Cicadian
April 18th, 2009, 07:50 AM
Seems to be a slight problem in that there are 14 slots on the llamaserver game but only 13 people signed up. We can either get another player or add an AI I guess.

Fantomen
April 18th, 2009, 08:18 AM
The game can be started anyway, leftover slots just aren´t used.

Tolkien
April 18th, 2009, 11:09 AM
Well we're missing a pretender from Midgard. I sent him a PM so hopefully we can get this going by tonight.

Festin
April 19th, 2009, 06:23 AM
Maybe we should find another player, or start with 13?

Fantomen
April 19th, 2009, 07:05 AM
I sent him a pm now.

I vote that we start with 13 tomorrow if he doesn´t send his pretender or report back.

OoohSnap
April 19th, 2009, 01:50 PM
Sorry I was out yesterday, I am sending my pretender right now

Ornedan
April 19th, 2009, 01:52 PM
Looks like someone else already went and submitted a Caelum pretender. Whomever it is doesn't seem to have posted here, though.

OoohSnap
April 19th, 2009, 02:00 PM
Seems I am really late :(, never mind guys good luck and have fun

Ornedan
April 19th, 2009, 02:05 PM
I wouldn't mind a restart to let OoohSnap in. It was rather rude of the Caelum player to take his place.

Tolkien
April 19th, 2009, 02:32 PM
Well I've unstarted the game.

Tolkien
April 19th, 2009, 02:44 PM
Go ahead and submit OoohSnap.

Ornedan
April 20th, 2009, 05:19 AM
Yay, the Caelum asshåle grabbed the slot again. Ban time, I hope?
Assuming the automated pretender submission system drops files sent to a full game, it might be best for OoohSnap to send his pretender file directly to llamabeast, so it can be swapped in immediately after Caelum is removed.

Fantomen
April 20th, 2009, 05:31 AM
First time I´ve seen something like that... Someone who found the llamaserver independantly of the forums?

I suppose Llamabeast could swap the files manually, did anyone pm him?

Edit: I did.

Fantomen
April 20th, 2009, 05:54 AM
Hey Tolkien. Have you noticed the "delete pretender" button under "admin options" on the llamaserver. You can just delete the caelum pretender and hopefully Ooohsnap gets in before that slot robber comes back.

llamabeast
April 20th, 2009, 06:44 AM
Indeed Fantomen, I was just about to post that. You can handle this with the admin options. Just delete Caelum's pretender. If you're worried that he might be faster than Ooohsnap to submit it again, you could:

1) Increase the number of pretenders allowed (by at least two so the game won't autostart if Caelum resubmits).
2) Wait till Ooohsnap has sent his pretender in.
3) Delete Caelum's pretender again if necessary
4) Start the game.

Sorted.

Funny problem though! If you wanted you could change the "Message of the day" for your game to say something explaining the situation to the Caelum player, so he knows what's going on!

Fantomen
April 20th, 2009, 07:25 AM
Can you increase the max number of players without having to recreate the game entirely? It will take much longer if everyone has to resubmit their pretenters.

OoohSnap
April 20th, 2009, 07:53 AM
Sorry for the delay, but I get the message that the game is already full when I tried to submit my pretender....

Seems that the Caelum guy grabbed the slot before me again :S

Illuminated One
April 20th, 2009, 09:35 AM
Lol.

I say let Caelum in and everyone gang up on him at the start. :D

Fantomen
April 20th, 2009, 09:55 AM
Not a bad idea...:tough:

llamabeast
April 20th, 2009, 11:49 AM
Fantomen: Yes, of course. You can do everything that I could think of that you might want to do, with the sole exception that you can't change the era of a game. It should be about one minute's work for the admin to sort everything out, then you just have to wait for OoohSnap's pretender again.

OoohSnap
April 20th, 2009, 12:08 PM
I am waiting for a slot because I can't upload my pretender it gets sent back to my mail :|

Ornedan
April 20th, 2009, 12:10 PM
OoohSnap: In the interest of getting this started soon, you could send your pretender file & email address to Tolkien via PM. Then Tolkien can boot Caelum, submit your nation, set correct email for it and start game in one atomic transaction :p

This does require trusting Tolkien to not take advantage of the situation, but if the admin is not trustworthy then we're all screwed anyway.

OoohSnap
April 20th, 2009, 12:21 PM
Sure no problem, I'll do it right now

Tolkien
April 20th, 2009, 03:30 PM
Well, Cataclysm is finally running. After an odd encounter with a nameless Caelum player, we're on track.

OoohSnap, have you received your turn file? Just making sure you got it. :p

OoohSnap
April 21st, 2009, 12:28 AM
Nevermind, just received my resent turn file and playing just fine~

Alpine Joe
April 22nd, 2009, 10:16 AM
I just got the reminder email for turn two but I have yet to receive my turn file from llamaserver. is this a bug? Or has it happened to anyone else? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Lavaere
April 22nd, 2009, 11:21 AM
wait what, ain't we still waiting to finish the first turn

Alpine Joe
April 22nd, 2009, 11:36 AM
Never mind, my mistake

Cicadian
April 22nd, 2009, 01:09 PM
It'd be cool if the last person to submit their turn could then send in the next one as well. This helps keep the game moving at a reasonable pace, especially when turns only take 2 min.

Fantomen
April 22nd, 2009, 05:00 PM
Agreed.

Cicadian
April 25th, 2009, 05:10 PM
Frozen Llama: Have you been getting my PMs? I'm not sure if they're sending properly.

Frozen Lama
April 25th, 2009, 07:27 PM
lol.

I'm such a noob, i wasn't even sure how i was going to phrase this..... its nothing personal, i just wanted to try being a rusher in a game once.

Giants aren't known for their literary skills. (ever tried holding a pencil with giant hands?) but anyway, we are sending back the head of your messanger for being a puny human.

or if you want giant-speak:

wAAAAAAAAg!!!!! big giants eat puny man-sheep.

Cicadian
April 26th, 2009, 08:30 AM
Well I'm not sure there's a lot I can do against your n9/e9 giants. I shall fight to the bitter end however!

Also, anyone who wants to attack Utgard while they're distracted with me will be amply rewarded if I survive!

Tolkien
April 26th, 2009, 01:36 PM
Woodsmen, eh? That's a tricky one to take down early game. I could give you some advice, if you give me more details on your research and mages. :p

I'd go with Armor of Achillies/Destruction+Masses of Composite Bows/Horsemen (for charge), with Lightning Bolts, Mind Burns, Sleep, Sailor's Death, False Fetters, Shadow Bolts, Mossbody, etc. It really depends on what you can do with magic.

You can also go with Pikes and Terror Spam. If you're up against Giants, pikes are the quintessential chaff/frontline, thanks to repel.

Frozen Lama
April 26th, 2009, 04:24 PM
oh thats cold Tolkien. lol :)

Redeyes
April 26th, 2009, 04:28 PM
You can also go with Pikes and Terror Spam. If you're up against Giants, pikes are the quintessential chaff/frontline, thanks to repel.
Against everything but n9 bless, 8gold pikeneers might demolish giants who don't have it but berserk makes them destroy pikeneers at a near perfect ratio ;)

Tolkien
April 26th, 2009, 05:00 PM
Ah, forgot about the berserk...PIkemen still work wonders against non-berserking giants.

In which case, stick with the Composite Bows and Horsemen/Ancestor Vessels for the Woodsmen: the goal here is basically to deal as much damage as possible, and them zerking certainly doesn't help their defense value.

Also FL: It's not cold, it's heat. :p

Frozen Lama
April 26th, 2009, 05:16 PM
Also FL: It's not cold, it's heat.

Not in TC right now! my prophet is making it VERY cold there.

wAAAAAAAAAAg!!!

The problem with magic based counters is it is turn 7. I didn't count on getting rushed this early!

Tolkien
April 26th, 2009, 10:33 PM
Well, you're honestly going to need some sort of magic to counter his bless-rush.

I've been suggesting some relatively research-easy counters: levels 1-3. You're in all honesty going to need alot of horsemen and ancestor vessels and composite bows to take him out without some magic.

Cicadian
April 26th, 2009, 11:05 PM
Recruiting is a touch hard when your capital is under siege. I really didn't expect to get rushed this early. It was just extremely bad luck that I ended up right next to one of the few bless-rushers of LA and he wasn't interested in talking.

Tolkien
April 27th, 2009, 03:22 PM
In which case, there's not much I can say. Just sit there, conjure whatever you can, and hope for the best. :(

Illuminated One
April 28th, 2009, 08:55 AM
Poor poor Arco.

I though I could play mad and frightening R'lyeh but it turned out more mad and comical. :)
And now the oppurtunity is taken by others.

P3D

Anyways, thanks from Gath for weakening Arco ;)

I think it's about time for me to bump up hosting to 48 hours, though hopefully turns come in sooner then that.

Fakeymcfake
May 3rd, 2009, 12:13 AM
48 hours already? We're not even at turn 20 yet. Give it a bit longer at least, I can still knock off my turns in 5-10 minutes.

Alpine Joe
May 3rd, 2009, 01:34 AM
I agree, lets leave hosting a bit shorter for now, as turns are still pretty short.

Illuminated One
May 3rd, 2009, 01:59 AM
I have no problem either way.

Festin
May 3rd, 2009, 02:36 AM
24 is ok for me for a few next turns at least.

Fantomen
May 3rd, 2009, 05:38 AM
I vote for keeping it at 24h until turn 25 or so at least.

Frozen Lama
May 3rd, 2009, 04:01 PM
AAR's/roleplaying are ok right? trying to start a trend here. lol:

wAAAAAAAAAAAAg!!!!!!!!! has spread to the halls of the Barbarian Kings. The giants of Utgard revel amongst the plunder of those gilded halls.

And across the lands of Utgard, a cry went up "victory for Frozen Lama, and victory for the wAAAAAAAAAAAAg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..........And in the dark keep of Utgard, massive shadowed eyes looked for its next victim....... for the wAAAAAg must grow, and that means war...

Tolkien
May 3rd, 2009, 07:58 PM
Alright, I'll switch it back to 24 hours next turn.

Also: of course!

From the highest towers of the ruined keep, the Impaler watches. A great storm looms on the horizon, and the Iron Inquisition awaits it's onset. As giants of frost and chaos gather upon the borders of the Black Forest, her people arm themselves for war. Awakened from their long slumbers, ancient counts of Ulm flock to her banner. From the ruined keep, the horrific ghouls, damned men, issue forth to feast upon the flesh of the living, and the dead. The Impaler watches...and waits.

Illuminated One

Sice Tien Chi is death you might want to forcehost this turn, I think llamaserver only gets that one turn after.

Frozen Lama
May 4th, 2009, 01:23 AM
Tolkien: can i assume you taking prov 62 is an act of war? i haven't attacked you at all, so for once i'm not the agressor. lolz

The great giants are not to be trifled with, they have tasted man-flesh and hunger for more. if the walking rotton corpses of ulm wish to die, Utgard will provide for them. they hunger for men, living or dead does not matter to them. wAAAAAAAAAAg!!!!!!!!!! is for this world and the next.

Tolkien
May 4th, 2009, 06:04 PM
I already PMed you on that: I stated you could have 52, but not 62 (mostly because it was right next to my capital (as you could have been able to discern).

Not my fault giants kill the messengers. :p

But if it comes down to war: I'm ready. I've got enough rangers and guardians and pikemen and magic to take out a decent sized army of woodsmen (50, I've tested. :p ): not to mention regular giants. I don't think one province is enough cause to permanently weaken yourself and embroil yourself into a hopeless war against the best anti-sacred-rusher-nation in the game.

Frozen Lama
May 4th, 2009, 08:21 PM
yeah, giants are not good with messangers, since i apparently missed that memo. :)
cool with me though. 62 is yours.

or, to be in character:

huh? puny humans waving little glowing sticks at Utgard? we crush them!! oh, they are puny giant-killing glowing sticks? ok fine, puny humans stay alive for now...

Festin
May 6th, 2009, 04:42 AM
We keep receiving quite cryptic and disturbing messages from R'lyeh, which don't even seem to be intended for us... Maybe it's just R'lyeh being R'lyeh.

Tolkien
May 6th, 2009, 06:45 AM
Lavaere: I've seen Castle Arcanum before: never tower of silver.

Festin: same. :p

Lavaere
May 6th, 2009, 01:38 PM
Yeah I like mages and those two gave me three new mages to play with. Exspecially since I'm Bogarus and I'll be needing them sooner or later.

Yeah and those R'lyeh messages get annoying after awhile.

Fakeymcfake
May 6th, 2009, 02:47 PM
Well, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one getting the odd message or two from the nutty fish folk.

Tolkien
May 6th, 2009, 03:22 PM
Castle Arcanum is really nice. A magical thug chassis (depending on the randoms), great magic variety and research on those wizards, and the castle is nice and strong. What kind of mages does Silver Tower give?

Personally though, I'd rather have found the Hidden Kingdom of Elludia. 2S1D+1ESDB mage and a awesome ethereal assassin (the mages is better, though). Plus 3S1D income and a Mountain Citadel. That find made Kailasa into both a blood and death nation, that SP game. ^_^

Ornedan
May 6th, 2009, 04:27 PM
I've put Abysia to AI. Didn't have enough time to do my turns lately and the situation doesn't look recoverable after staling several mage recruitment turns away. I'd have to start a war with either Atlantis or Gath to get anywhere and only chance I'd have against either with my build would be to overwhelm with fire evocations.

I think my strategy of lesser horror rush expansion might have worked elsewhere on that map, but my neigboring bless rushers got me boxed in early. Especially Atlantis, who used sailing to grab the channel crossing provinces. And lesser horrors would fail badly against Assartut's magic weapons, so I couldn't exactly start a war right then.

Fantomen
May 7th, 2009, 02:14 PM
Sorry to hear that Omedan, I did not mean to ruin your expansion. Hope to see you in other games.

I would like a pause over the weekend after the upcoming turn from friday afternoon to sunday night. This is because I´ve been invited to the countryside where there is no internet. I could try to get someone to cover for me I guess.

Also I decided to make a AAR for this game, You can read it here (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=43059).

How long do you need, a 24 or a 48 hour delay?

Fantomen
May 7th, 2009, 04:42 PM
Well the current turn is already sent and I will get the next one in before I leave. So the turn I need a delay for is the one supposed to host saturday night. A 24h delay, until sunday night, would do.

Well played Illuminated one:D Quite a challenge!

So R´lyeh managed to time perfectly when most of my troops are out of the water. Then he casts Sea of ice and launches the assault on both fronts. I have no way of dispelling it so I guess I´m doomed to loose the seas.

So R´lyeh will dominate the seas unless someone wants to help me out. I beleive I´m stronger than him if I could only get down there:D However that advantage wont last long...

We all know what a LA R´lyeh unchallenged in the waters means for the game so I hereby officially invite all other nations to unite against the aliens. PM me to start the conspiracy.

"sire, Ulm is attacking!!"

"huh? puny humans killed our skratti? they will not submit to the wAAAAg? then it is death for those dummys!!"

across the lands, giants cry in rage at this unprovoked attack, and gear up for a fight, for war, for death, and for revenge....

.....and deep within the fortress of Utgard, the norna wisper of a new weapon that they shall unleash against the tratorous humans and their undead slaves.

the great nation of Utgard mobilizes all its forces, to answer the call for battle, for this is TOTAL WAR!!!

Tolkien
May 18th, 2009, 11:29 PM
It was dark and dim all day. From the sunless dawn until evening the heavy shadow deepened, and all hearts in the city were oppressed. Far above a great cloud streamed slowly westward from the Black Land, devouring light, borne upon a wind of war; but below the air was still and breathless, as if all the Vale of [Utgard] waited the onset of a ruinous storm.

It is now, that the Impaler, Valery Dracul, announces the beginning of the Grand Crusade: a coalition of nations whose goal shall be to put an end, once and for all, to the frozen menace of Utgard. All are invited to join in the final partition of Utgard and the liberation of Pangaea and Tien Chi.

Sorry, Lama, but you are growing way too fast and large, and we have no choice but to protect our long term interests. :p

For now, all I shall say is that R'lyeh, Pangaea, and I are in this, till the bitter end (or in R'lyeh's case, until he is forced from the surface). :o

Tolkien
May 18th, 2009, 11:37 PM

Frozen Lama

I certainly would never discount Ulm's skill in deceit.

I'm counting on people's intelligence to realize that I can ruin almost all my neighbors empires even if I do go down eventually in which case you will have the same problem, only with Gath this time, and you will have fallen far behind in your nation-building.

Tolkien
May 19th, 2009, 09:21 PM
However, it is better to put down the gorilla in the room while you still have the opportunity to do so, then to allow him to grow to King Kong proportions. Then we would require a beauty to slay the beast, and being we are all playing Dominions 3, it doesn't seem likely.

:p

Frozen Lama
May 19th, 2009, 09:28 PM
But in true giant tradition, Utgard will go down swinging, and take down many nations with it whilst the few nations that remain untouched by the devastation will grow and prosper and then fall upon their exhausted neighbors who so valiently allied to take down the giants, yet weakened themselves irreversably in the act. Thus, the ones who stay out of the war shall win.

Tolkien

Unless not enough persons are willing to join the coalition, in which case Utgard wins over large tracts of land and thus are set to win the game completely and utterly.

I'm going to be out of town for the weekend so I'm delaying the game. If everyone is able to get their turn in today I'll delay the next turn, otherwise I'll have to delay this one.

I'd not really like to ask for a rollback, but now I do. Second in a row, I stale despite submitting a turn. First due to the server move, second due to some unknown reason.

Eh, ignore above.

I am back from vacation. I can now reassume control of Utgard. Of course, when i was looking for subs, i said that if any of the subs got really attatched to the nations, they could keep it, so if Agema wants to keep it, just say so. otherwise switch me over.

Alright, as far as a rollback goes I'm willing to consider it however I want to hear from the other players before I do anything since this affects everyone. If any player has a reason not to want a roll back you have 48 hours to voice your opinion.

Frozen Llama, work out with your sub if you are going to take over Utgard again then let me know (and send me your email so I can switch you back over if that's the case).

Other than that, I (Marignon) am in the market for astral and death gems, I have a healthy quantity of all other gem types.

I was not clear apparently. I withdraw my request for rollback, no need to slow the game down.
However, could we increase turn time to 60 or 72hrs?

Alright, scratch the rollback, whomever doesn't want the turns lengthened state so here, you've 60 hours to reply (delaying game so that it'll be 60 hours)

I'm good with 72. SOOO much better than having one of the top nations stale.

Fakey- i'm waiting to hear from Agema, when i do, i will PM you

I would prefer that the turn time not be raised to 60 hours, if it is longer than two days I tend to lose focus a bit.

I will of course accept the will of the majority, however.

I too would just rather allow delays whenever requested.

Well on the topic of delays I'm going to be gone for the August long weekend. So from this friday to tuesday I'll need to delay the game since it's really not worth finding a replacement for just one turn.

And it looks like it's 2 on 2 as far as more time goes, so I'll cast the tie-breaker and switch it to 60 hours.
