I often listen to MP3'w while playing SEIV, and today it occured to me that it would be nice to have a built in MP3 player on the main players panel in SEIV. You know the space to the far right with all the -| crap?

Well, wouldn't that be a great place for an in game MP3 player?

I lack the knowledge on scripting so I don't know if it can or can not be done. Input on this idea is welcome.

It would be rather cool, as you would not have to be limited to just one CD at a time (you can only burn so much onto one disk, after all). If the information from the settings.txt could somehow be aimed at, say, a winamp playlist instead of the CD-ROM, and you knew which songs you wanted for abience, which songs you wanted for battles, and so on, well, it could work.

Of course, as to how to get the game to snag things from an mp3 playlist is beyond me. I think it might be hardcoded to look at the CD-ROM for music.

You don't need to have a CD, you can have MP3s in your hard drive.
You could make every shipset have a specific song that plays when it's player or when it attacks.
Give it the ability to play midis, to save space.

Is this true or just a suggestion? Right now, can you specify Mp3 file locations instead of cd tracks?
