Aaron's posted screenshots from his new game, World Supremacy:

Looks like a low key wargame - perhaps a test bed for a more elaborate ground combat system for SE? :P

While I think these style of games are much more enjoyable than those twitch fest RTS's out there, this is very 1980-1990's style game. I'm not sure how much its going to make compared to the Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes, Command and Conquer crowd out there.
As for it being a test bed for ground combat for SE6 well thats a good thing as long as it doesn't end up as the like the combat for SE5 in space based loosely off Star Fury.

The world can always use another Empire-like game. Looking at the screens none seem to be a combat screen so I wonder how that is handled. Just a roll-off a la Axis and Allies or will there be a tactical module? Looking at the unit stats seems to lean towards a more streamlined combat mode (not many stats, low numbers).

About damn time. I have been saying Aaron should make one of these type of games for years and now it looks like he actually is. I know he has been working on one for a while, but this, this really excites me. He should change the name though to Nation States. Fits better.

I wish the game developers who release through Shrapnel would get on the ball and make a game like this and sell it here.

And the game sucks too. Aaron's game is more deserving of that name than that crappy web browser game. If he would have acted on the suggestion to build a game such as this back in 2002 when it was first mentioned, he'd own that name now. Is the name Earth Empires taken too? Most likely.

He may still be able to use it. After all, that game isn't Nation States but NationStates. The space may be a minor issue, but I think from a legal standpoint game titles, like book and song titles, are considered fair game unless you have a truly unique title and the difference in how it's written may be enough to tip the balance.
Earth Empires may make people think of Empire Earth, and since the EE series was pretty forgettable I'm not sure he'd want to have anyone associating the two. :)

(Scroll down to the entry "Software Trademarks" on the second link. I can't find a better link ATM.) "Nation States" would be closer to infringing than Aaron's current "World Supremacy" is to the old boardgame Supremacy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supremacy_(board_game)).

Interesting. Unfortunately it looks like tragedy (http://www.legacy.com/idahopress/Obituaries.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonID=124690165) has claimed Kellogg Creek.

Personally I feel he should continue evolving his current games.
