And along with the announcment by Shrapnel, I can announce that PBW is ready and able to support games using Version 1.49.

New games can be setup using stock v1.49 now. If you have an exsisting game you want converted post something in the admin forum on PBW and we will do them as quick as possible.

If you have a mod that is already supported on PBW, please let us know what your plans are for moving to 1.49, if needed. Not all mods will need it I suppose.

So here's what's new text-wise with 1.49:

Abilities.txt
Two new abilities:
Stop Open Warp Point
Stop Close Warp Point

Facility.txt
The System Gravitational Shield Facility uses the two new abilities mentioned above.

Components.txt
Afterburners I,II, and III descriptive text added "(only 1 component per ship effective)".

Settings.txt
Two new settings:
Use Old Log Political Message Display := FALSE
System Ship Movement Delay Milliseconds := 0

<Race>_AI_DesignCreation.txt
Satellites and Weapons Platforms changed their default strategies to Maximum Weapons Range.

SE4 TDM-ModPack Interim Patch
=============================
This is an interim patch designed to make the TDM-ModPack v.1.80 compatible with the SE4 patch 1.49. This patch does not contain new AI script files for the TDM-ModPack races. But stay with us, we will post new Ai files in about one to two weeks.

Regards,
Mephisto

The setting changes do cause old mods not to run. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif
Since I can't even get one to start (other than the new TDM, thanks Mephisto) I don't know what other problems may lurk for mods. Looks like they will all have to be updated.

Just insert the two new lines:
"Use Old Log Political Message Display := FALSE"
and
"System Ship Movement Delay Milliseconds := 0"
in the settings.txt file of your mod (data folder) and it should be possible to resume a game with your mod. I had the same problem initially!

The leaked patch refers to the patch (designated as Version 1.49) obtainable via a link posted in this forum on Wednesday morning and deleted shortly thereafter without any explanation by Malfador.

actually, thats the one im using because i didnt want to download it a second time.

is there a difference, or was it just removed because their help desk didnt want to deal with the patch release on the same day as a product being shipped?

The problem was that the patch we released had a problem that was reported just an hour after the release. Aaron then had me delete the old patch and put the new one up.

Re: the recon satellite bug...

Nothing drives me more crazy then invading a AI planet with a superior (combat hungry)task force and finding out all 40 satellites in orbit are plain old recon satellites...
