View Full Version : Silly AI

I have a small fleet defending a wormhole.
Also there is a SpaceStation factory, building a starbase, and a BattleStation defending.

The AI brings a moderate sized fleet (10 ships, LC,BB,DN) into the system, and wanders over to my gateway.
It sees that it can't win the battle, and so the fleet waits there.

After a few turns, I cloak my battlestation for fun.
The AI immediately attacks what it now sees as a winnable battle.
But, as soon as they arrive, my BattleStation lobs salvos of HeavyMount artillery into the fleet http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif.

The total damage on my side:
- One LC with cosmetic damage to two Ablative armor segments, and a bad smell in the shield generator room.
- One slightly warm Shield generator on the BattleStation.

Perhaps the AI should mark sectors with known DefenseBases, just like it does with minefields? Don't go there with anything less than a war Fleet.

This is just one example of the problem that The AI has no memory for the past turns!

It probably thought you scrapped the battlestation! If I get too lazy to keep a sharp eye on things I probably would have made the same mistake too! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/tongue.gif
