Welcome The All New Gamers Front By Downloading Dominions 3!
Revamped Shrapnel Games Online Store Launched!

Hampstead, NC, 08 March 2010

Shrapnel Games, your friendly neighborhood publisher of independent award-winning strategy and niche titles since 1999, is very excited to announce that our online store the Gamers Front has been completely retooled for an all new shopping experience!

To inaugurate this new store we came up with several ideas, many of which seemed impractical, too expensive, or just plain illegal (still, the idea of shaving our logo in pigs and dropping them across the country from a hot air balloon does sound like fun-the key is entirely in wind velocity and ground density). But then we hit upon a decidedly delicious idea. One which should make quite a few folks happy. Even though it doesn't involve falling swine.

Dominions 3: The Awakening is now available for purchase as a download.

Yes, you've read that correctly. The ever popular, ever awesome Dominions 3: The Awakening, long only available as a physical product, can be yours as a download. Got a hankering to perform blood magic at 4 in the morning and you're in Kuala Lumpur? No longer will you have to wait for Dominions 3 to arrive! Just click, pay, and ta-dah!

Of course if you'd prefer to have your Dominions 3: The Awakening as a physical product so you can show off your 300+ page Bruce Geryk scribed manual you can still get the game as a physical product. Shipping is fast and comes to you with a multi-OS CD.

Whether purchasing Dominions 3: The Awakening or just curious about the new Gamers Front be sure to check our all new storefront out. Some highlights of the new Gamers Front include:

Upgraded product selection through genre/format/OS choices.

Bundle savings, such as purchasing a core game and an expansion pack.

Extended download services.

Product knowledge base.

Reward Credits earned through purchases that can then be applied to future purchases.

Classified ads. Time to sell your '94 Toro lawnmower.

Wishlists, personal reminders, and much more!

Full details and explanations can be found at the Gamers Front on all the new features. Additionally, we still run the Scholars & Soldiers Discount program. If you're unfamiliar with the program it provides a discount to members on all products purchased at the Gamers Front. Membership is easy, all you have to be is a college student anyplace in the world or a member of the United States military (retired is ok, too).

Something else which hasn't changed is our desire to provide you with the best service possible. Orders are processed quickly, and customer support is always an email away.

Nice, a lot of people were waiting for a digital download option for Dom3, quite a couple of interested test players regretted that none existed before. Good to see that this is finally possible!

Great news. And I am also curious if this means we will also see a E-manual?

Before those sales you might want to get yourself verified if you are a college student or american military. That carries a very nice discount also. Tie one of those together with a sale and it would be sweet.

But $19.95? Haha. Thats going to be a long wait. We cant even get Dom 1 at that price.

But if you like solo play, illwinters game before Dom 1 is available from Shrapnel as a free download. Conquest of Ellysium II which is a pretty fun little game.

Well, I downloaded it.

Where's the manual?

Why can't the download already be current with the latest patch?

My god, did I really spend 50$ on an ancient game? I should have my brain frozen in a vat.

I think the original download included it in the folder with the installer.

The program comes from Shrapnel. But Illwinter provides the patches on a page at Shrapnel.

The developers provide them for free (they are actually as much free upgrades as free patches) so they arent really part of the program that Shrapnel sells Im guessing. Thats probably why we dont pay for upgrades like other games. Upgrades and patches that are STILL coming out after all these years

As for the price, save the link to this post and come back to it when you are still playing this game a year from now. :)
2 years. 3 years.
