Would it be possible to arrange a PBW game that generates the turns once all the players have uploaded there turns? This way, one could set up a game with players, and start playing at say 10 am, and stop at 10 pm. A 12 hour marathon game.

Just have the players schedule the time to play a 12 hour game, and everyone agree to play until they are beaten or surrender.

An all day game.

pbw games usually do that by default. they can be set to either generate on schedule, generate when all are done, or both. they can also be set to email the files to the host instead of generating on the server.

the only trick, would be to get the people to play the marathon.

Heres an idea.

PBW sets up a marathon game, the players all sign up, pay a game fee, and the winner takes half, and PBW gets the other half. Helps PBW out, and generates some great game play because you know people who put money on the line will play. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Send the money in via PAYPAL, and cost of the game is like 5 bucks. Min number of players is 20 no ai. Since most of us are old enough to have a PayPal account, it would work.

20 player games are hard to get moving, maybe 10 would be good. you would have to either have an invitational group of people that really wanted to play together, or a truely great game feature. otherwise, i think people would tend to opt for a free game.

Sounds great!

Of course my wife and family would have a hard time with me paying for the priviledge of skipping out on all my duties from dawn to dusk on a Saturday... and I work occasionally on the weekends... and there's that ol' "tying up for the phoneline for your silly games" thing to deal with...
Maybe a midnight marathon would be better...

I better think about this...

(*deep sigh*)
