I continually ppp planets ,then go to restructure them to my needs only to find that the planet has 24 out of 20 (or some similair inbalance) of facilities on it.

No, the AI cannot build more than legally allowed. What has happened is you have captured a planet from a race with the "Advanced Storage Techniques" ability. The AI had filled it to capacity, which is higher than normal because of that special ability. Since you do not have that ability, the planet now defaults to the usual number of facilities. If you can use the facilities, enjoy the extra capacity. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif If you have to scrap some of them, you will not be able to recover those 'extra' slots.

IIRC you can upgrade them - that's about it...

Thank you for the answers.
I had no idea that trait worked that way, I thought it just increased the amount of resources you could store/facility.

it's not obvioous from the description is it ? Turns out it is one of the most useful advanced traits once you figure out what it really gives you.

That trait also increases the number of people that can fit on a planet.
Its not a big effect, but it is nice at the beginning, since pulling people off your homeworld for colonies dosen't reduce your population production bonus.

Is it the same if the AI has 2 colonie mod n 1 ship?
