I am currently using the CD Version updated to V4.0 and have always enjoyed using the generated campaign feature. I usually play 5 to 10 battles against various opponents. It seemed in the past I got a selection of battle types ( Assault, Advance, etc. ). Now it seems that about 95% of the automated generated battles are meeting engagements.
I find these the least interesting.
Is this true?
Is there some way to change this?
Can I go back to an earlier version to get a random selection of battles ?
Thx,
Gene Smith

Why don't you update to the latest version?
As for the rest I will let someone else reply.

The first 3 battles in a generated campaign are now always meeters, so you can play a 'best of 3' PBEM campaign with equal battle types.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for responding. Since I am not doing PBEM is there any way around this, such as surrendering the first three battles without playing or going back to an earlier version of the game (which version ?)
Thx,
Gene Smith

If you really don't want the initial 3 meeters then just set the battle length to 1 for them. No need to buy support or bother with a deployment then. Should do the trick and end up as draws.
The game may advance a few moves if objectives are contested though (enemy in good order within 500m). So maybe deploy a few fast scout cars near any ones set close to your deployment zone, and tanks in overwatch etc. to make sure AI fast movers don't grab some, but it should simply be a click of "end turn" to get it done.
Cheers

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the reply. Setting the game length to zero occurred to me after the last post and I tried it. It works fine.
One interest fact... It appears that the fourth game is also a meeting engagement. I tried it about 20 times and always got a meeting engangement of the fourth game, but a random engagement on the fifth game.
Thanks again for your time and suggestion.
