Is there a way to undo a diplomatic message, once sent?

As was the case in another thread, two players in my PBW game are using the same portrait. I was trying to make a gift to the one I'm a partner with, but accidentally sent it to the wrong empire. Luckily, I caught it before before hitting end turn, but I had to reload and replay the entire turn. Arrgh!

It seems like such a simple fix... when you click the race portrait it should give you the option to delete the message and start over...

Am I missing something?

There is no way to pull back a message once it is sent.
This has gotten me into alot of bad spots.

IIRC, there are "Start Over" and "Cancel" options on the same screen as the "Send Message" button. Once you've actually hit "Send", though, the message is on its way.

The idea, I think, is to stop people from breaking treaties and then taking that message back.

I don't see any reason that you can't take back proposals, general Messages, etc.

Additionally, the 1 message limit is very annoying. Certain types of Messages, I can understand. But multiple general Messages? What's wrong with that?
