I'm fiddling around with an Ulm redesign and one of the things I wanted to do was change the Black Acolyte into a Mage Hunter assassin. The weapon I was thinking of was a dagger that causes the Mute affliction and targets it hits, since that seems powerful, balanced, and fits with the existing sprite graphic. However, I can't seem to figure out a method of applying the Mute affliction. Is this even possible? I really dont want to use something overpowered like a Magebane clone for a recruitable unit.

You can only apply an affliction that a weapon already in the game applies.
To clarify, there are quite a few hardcoded "weapons" which cause a particular affliction. Weapons already in the game use them as #secondaryeffects. You could use one of them too, but you can't make a new one. So, you can definitely cause a Chest Wound or a Lost Eye, but I'm not sure about Mute. The best thing would be to read Edi's database.

I don't think there's a mute weapon, but weapon effect #156 is feeblemind.

Alright thanks guys. I was hoping not to use Feeblemind but if its the closest I can get then I'll take it. :)
