Sometimes I really wonder if the SEIV combat AI was intentionally programmed to spoil your plans! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

I've just designed an almighty battlecruiser armed with 2x computer virus III and 2x subverters III. I also threw in a talisman to make it absolutely lethal (ok I admit you usually don't get to do that without a max tech start, I'm just day dreaming! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif ). Anyway, I arranged the weaps such that there is a virus followed by a subverter, then another virus and another subverter. I threw it into the simulator fully expecting that the ship would take out the two unarmed, MC-equiped large transports in the first salvo. What actually happened was totally unexpected and absolutely frustrating... that's why I'm here. The ship always fired BOTH viruses at the first target, even though only one was ever needed to destroyed the MC. It then had to wait for three turns before taking out the second transport!!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif Is there a work-around out there? This is a very serious bug in my opinion.

condensed view. combat is resolved as if all weapons of one type were on a stack, as in the condensed view of a ship design. no solution, build smaller ships, and more of them. or spend the space on defenses. or on more subverters. or seperate your virus and subverter ships..

Actually, if you do it "manually," you can click on which weapons you want to fire. Hence, just click the virus/subverter to fire on ship#1, and the 2nd virus/subverter on ship#2.

Can't do that in PBW games.

I haven't tried it, but I think this might work:

Add a Multiplex Tracking component to the design, and in the ship's chosen Strategy, set the first Firing Priority to "Least Damaged".

The idea is that, if the first Virus hits, that ship won't be the least damaged any more, so you'll shift to the second target. You might need to rearrange the weapons to make sure both Viruses fire before the Subverters.
