Is there any way of coding in a history file.
It would keep a record of Intel.
Other options would be an empire history etc...
but Intel please.
OR some other way of keeping a record of intel projects and what they found.
Pen and paper just don't cut it.

I'd like to know what Intel Projects, other than PPP, Crew Insurrection & Resource Procurement, you find useful, ....?
When I finally find opponents, I immediately research to level two for Crew Insurrection & Resource Procuement. I don't find any use for any of the other projects.

Here are the intels I use during a pbem game
Ship Bomb, Engine Damage, Crew Rotation, Ship Blueprints,
where a history file would help out
Force Concentrations, Queue Concentrations, Weather Disruptions, Ground Contamination, Food Contamination, Anarchy Groups, Cargo Maintenance Problems,Industrial Sabotage,Covert Recon,Census Thefts,Technological Sabotage,Communications Mimic, Communications Taps, Tech Reports etc.............
Mind you I wish Force Concentrations informed you what exactly was in that system.
I use intel all the time.
I like to know what my friends / enemies are up to and what they have.
In the PBEM games I play we do not have PPP or Ship capture but we have the rest of them.
Information gathering is an important weapon that must be used.
A history file of what happened to you and what you did would make life less difficult.

Another great history file would be a history of ships, fleets and battles.
I really enjoy reading that at the end of a game in Star Trek Amarda 2

these might bog down the distribution of files fromthe sever, even in a .zip the size of many decades of ship conflicts (especially) and intel actions could be a littlebig. I have DSL but even then, i like to see my turn downloads go by in under 30 secs. PBEM might have overload problems. You could have these files available seperatly on PBW and use your password to acces them.

In Armada, it was just a Number of Ships constructed/Resources extracted/Ships lost/colonies constructed/colonies lost.
An extra 10 integers for each player is all.
What might be neat is a detailed text "story" of the battle, dumped into an archive on the server for the players to read afterwards. You could probably write some statistics program for PBW to read them, and generate some Awards.
IE:
Kamikaze award: Suicide_junkie, for 1,564 rammings.
Rambo award: Spyder, for 43,569 shots fired.
James Bond Award: Skulky, for 123,850,000 offensive intel points spent.
