Malfador how about larger ship graphics. Increase the size from 36X36 to 45X45 or so. I'd like to see base ships, starbases, and dreadnaughts more proportional. Would this be possible? If not now then how about in a future update?

It would take a redesign of the entire interface, really. Everything would take up more space, because the tiles would have to be larger, the large-size pic would need to be larger. ALL the shipsets would need to be re-rendered or re-designed.

Worse, it would probably make the game unplayable in 800x600. Right now the system map is 432 pixels up and down; at 45x45 squares it would be 540 up and down, PLUS the extra space from whatever size the new large pic would be (if any).

So you either have to make the interface even smaller or give up 800x600 usability. Not a good thing, IMO.

This only is a wish for SE5, but I’d like to see different sizes actually being different.
A small ship can be a single combat sector, but a big one can be for example 3x5 sectors in size.
Combine this with a smaller grid, vectorially calculated movements and distances and rotation movements fire arcs, etc. to get a better and more realistic battles.

...and then you can have planets that take up like a 2x2 piece of the sector grid (also ringworlds that go in a ring or asteroid belts and then sphereworlds that hold their true population (many trillions, i have the calcs all figured out). I have so many ideas for whatever the next one is going to be (5, some enourmous add on), but don't try and switch the ship sizes yet.
