That would be awesome if Aaron could sign my copy of SEIV.
Realistically I could not expect him to sign 6,000 - 20,000 - 50,000+ copies so this is what I propose:
-Aaron can sign my copy and then print the signed copy (my copy) for everyone else.
He-He!

Um, go somewhere else and flame.
Many CD's are signed, box, manual, whatever. Its a nice idea, and many people feel its a way to show support and to complement for the developer. Learn to read between the lines and you'll avoid pissing people off. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

An Autograph of Aaron would be really cool. You get my vote. Maybe the value of the CD increases in a few years ? At least in my eyes. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hear hear, I'd pay an extra 10 bucks for an autograph! The only other game of equal value that I would love autographed is Civ I by Sid. (Put 'em up on my mantle http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif )

I don't think it would be right for me to ask for another thing to be autographed by Aaron. The original manual is quite enough for me. Don't want him to get writers cramp! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

How about if he only signed copies ordered by forum members with a forum ranking of, oh, I don't know (picks a rank out of the air completely at random) say, colonel, or above.
Seems fair to me.

I agree with Dogscoff, only commissioned officers should get signed CD's, not the plebs.
Instead of my CD being signed (wouldn't see it much as it would be in the drive), can I have an autographed picture of Aaron? may be he could do a series dressed up as Elvis, Lincoln, a Spice Girl or something?

That would be a lot of signing for him. Hes written enough code on a keyboard for goodness sakes... lets not give him Carpal tunnel.
If he has a dog he could have the dog do paw prints
Or not

Oh, how convenient Dogscoff. You just make it into the Category that would get a signed copy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif I personally think that being at least a First Lieutenant should qualify you. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Hmmm, since no one has seen his signature he could just train 30 monkeys to write his name on the Cds day and night, and no one would be the wiser,

I fear if this idea(s) come true, our forum would be spammed with unnecessary Posts within the next days.
Mr. Bun: Morning.
Waitress: Morning.
Mr. Bun: Well, what you got?
Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg, sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg, bacon and spam; egg, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam; spam, sausage, spam, spam, spam, bacon, spam, tomato and spam; spam, spam, spam, egg and spam; (Vikings start singing in background) spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam.
Vikings: Spam, spam, spam, spam, lovely spam, lovely spam.
Waitress: (cont) or lobster thermador ecrovets with a bournaise sause, served in the purple salm Mr. Bunor with chalots and overshies, garnished with truffle pate, brandy, a fried egg on top and spam.
Mrs. Bun: Have you got anything without spam?
Waitress: Well, there's spam, egg, sausage and spam. That's not got much spam in it.
Mrs. Bun: I don't want any spam!
Mr. Bun: Why can't she have egg, bacon, spam and sausage?
Mrs. Bun: That's got spam in it.
Mr. Bun: It hasn't got as much spam in it as spam, egg, sausage and spam has it?
Mrs. Bun: (over Vikings starting again) Could you do me egg, bacon, spam and sausage without the spam then?
Waitress: Ech!
Mrs. Bun: What do you mean ech! I don't like spam!
Vikings: Lovely spam, wonderful spam....etc
Waitress: Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Bloody vikings. You can't have egg, bacon, spam and sausage without the spam.
Mrs. Bun: I don't like spam!
Mr. Bun: Shh dear, don't cause a fuss. I'll have your spam. I love it. I'm having spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam. (starts Vikings off again)
Vikings: Lovely spam, wonderful spam...etc
Waitress: Shut up! Baked beans are off.
Mr. Bun: Well, can I have her spam instead of the baked beans?
Waitress: You mean spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, and spam?
Vikings: Lovely spam, wonderful spam...etc...spam, spam, spam! (in harmony)

Yep.
Lessee... figure ten seconds an autograph, times 50,000 copies, divided by 3600 seconds per hour... is almost 140 hours of signing time. Which is like signing his autograph for six days straight.
Now I know some consider Aaron a god, but until he actually has the power to bend time and space.... Wait, he doesn't already have the power to bend time and space, does he? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

<blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><hr> ten seconds an autograph, times 50,000 copies <hr></blockquote>I think you're overestimating the number of people who actually want Aaron's autograph by at least 3 orders of magnitude, judging by the number of Posts in this thread.

I've seen his signature, as a beta tester I got a signed manual. Its cool, I have it in an airtight baggy. Away from the sun, so it wont ever go bad. Its precious.
