Right now we are working on the sound files for the B5Mod and wanted to tap into our wonderful community for some help/ideas.
First off, are the any specifics within SE IV on how long the sound file should be or sizes?
Next, what (IYHO) is the best (ie-easiest) program to use when editting them?
Finally, does anyone know how to sample audio from a DVD rom?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Val.
Wave files should be kept as small as possible.
Were talking 1k to 2k a second.
You want the average sound in the game to Last around 2 seconds to 4 seconds.
Now for editing. It depends on your budget.
You can use the programs that come with your sound card for this type of editing.
I will look into the DVD sampling, I have not done that yet.
I use CubeBase for most of my samples and arranging of music.

I don't know how slow your computer draws weapon fire and explosions, but in my experience most weapons take less than 0.5 seconds to fire, and even WMGs or dead-ship-exploding sequences only take 1.0 second.
Doing stellar manipulation might take 2-3 seconds...
