Okay here's a thread to see who gets their game first. No prize except getting to brag to your friends that you are playing it and THEY'RE NOT http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .

Seriously folks should start getting their copies today, even though we are STILL shipping pre-orders.

Let us know what you think when you get it. I would especially like to get any feedback on the manual and mousepad for those that got it.

Richard
March 5th, 2002, 06:50 PM
Okay I have seen several arrive via UPS, I don't have access to the other tracking systems.

The first copy I saw landed in Washington, DC. The first Board Register person I saw get one was in Virginia, login on board jnoory (even though he has never posted).

So who will be the first board regular to get it. Any folks in VA or NC? And post those tracking numbers for proof http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .

My copy is being sent by USPS (United States Postal Service), why is that? Is it because I'm in Canada?

Anyways, Last time it took 7 days and that would make it due next Tuesday...right at the beginning of all my mid-terms! And then exams! Aargh! When will I be able to play!

Now I just need to install & play. Of course, since I've been working 12-hour days 6 or 7 days a week the Last couple weeks, and will probably continue that crazy schedule for another month, I may not get much playing in for a while... nor have I been posting...

Ok, new list. Reasons why shipments take longer to Canada. I'll get it started...

1. Sign on back of delivery truck: "This vehicle stops at all moose crossings."

2. All the money you spend on free quality health care for all had to come from somewhere. Bye bye postal service budget.

3. All the Yankee touristers keep stopping the driver and asking him to "Do that 'I am Canadian!' bit."

LOL

Although there are flaws...

The Moose crossings should be Beaver, Deer, Grizzly, Fox, Wolf, Cougar, Wolverine, Elk crossing.

The Postal budget went out the window when they made very very unentertaining insane ads that they put out on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

The probablity of a Yank asking that is unlikely as it is Skiing season and its more likely Japanese and European people asking it.

And the biggest hosers in the world are Americans. Especially Western Americans http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Everybody knows that.

*Drum roll*

And another thing: The Canadian postal service originates from two places: Ottawa and Regina/Winnipeg. Both places desolate and far far away from most of where Canadians live.

That also explains why our political system is going down the drain (and why the Canadian Alliance is the opposition.)

Go ahead and put in a request with our help desk so that they can send a new CD out.

Thanks Richard. Well it was more "warped" then bent. The funny thing though was that I had a premination about this earlier in the thread:

quote:
It's not fair! How come it can get to England, Finland, and Switzerland before Toronto, Canada?! *When it does come it will probably be squished into my mailbox too, aargh.*
Just a little eager to play, that's all.

I GOT IT! I GOT IT!

Had the same absolute, terrifying fear as Noble 713 when I opened the package and didn't see the CD, but my girlfriend, who is much smarter than me, quickly figured out that it must be in the book...

Woo hoo! At Last ... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Though not directly ordered at Shrapnel, I got my copy from Mephisto (thanks again) who placed a bulk order for some of us german customers.

Shipment from US to Germany was arranged quite fast as far as I traced UPS' route but I believe it was stuck in the customs at cologne airport for 2-3 days, anyway thanks Malfador, Shrapnel and Mephisto.

Have a nice weekend all

Royal *** Mail greatest SE IV blunder !

My SE IV Gold arrived at March 8. They "tried" to deliver it that morning. My wife was at home the whole day and swears on Bible that NOBODY ringed our door ! They left a piece of paper which get lost among all the junk mail. I found it only yesterday, a week later !! Arggggghhhhhhh....
But anyway, I got it now.
