Using startrek/star wars shipsets with SEIV Gold

Newbie Question

Probably a daft question, but ive just downloaded the star trek shipsets which look reall cool. However the files do not seem to have a .emp extension anywhere so I cant use my star trek race in the game - also I have downloaded some of the star wars ship sets out there but the game seems to have a problem with the file sw-emp1_AI_SETTINGS. When I select my
race, the game does start up but comes up Messages which indicate that some of the settings entries to which this file points are not therer or vice versa - can anyone help?

The Last ive heard, the star trek races have not been upgraded for SE4 gold. It shouldnt be too long though if i understand right.

To my knowledge, the Star Trek and Starwars shipsets are not SEIV Gold compatible yet. I know Atrocities and Andrés are working hard to get them updated.

Also, not every shipset comes with an .emp (empire) file. Sometimes, you'll have to create a new empire and choose the shipset you want to use with the <Add New> option when setting up a game.

I am working to get the Star Trek races that I have developed Gold compatable. For the time being, I will be using Malfador Race Files to do this. I have sent Tampa Gamer an email regarding what race files were set up for the Klingon, Romulan, and Borg in the TDM Gold mod. If any one already knows, please post.

I hope to have them updated and posted by tomorrow evening PST say 10 pm, or by the latest, 7 am Sunday. Sorry about the delay, but RL has KO'ed me yet once again this fine week. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

As I have said before, any one who wishes to make the AI for any Star Trek race, please feel free to do so. I would be happy to have good AI for them, and of course, all credit for the AI would go to you.
